The Committee for Justice in Palestine at The Ohio State University
presents the Second Annual May Event ...
PALESTINIAN AWARENESS WEEK: VOICES OF THE PEOPLE
MAY 12 - 16, 2003 // A Week of Art, Discussion, and Action
In commemoration of the 55th anniversary of al-Nakba--a series of
events that led to the mass deportation of over a million
Palestinians from their homes, massacres of innocent civilians, and
the total destruction of hundreds of Palestinian villages throughout
historic Palestine--an entire week of educational events will be held
on the campus of The Ohio State University.
To complement our series of well respected guest speakers, a refugee
camp will be constructed on the Oval, a giant Apartheid
wall/"security fence" will be built, checkpoints will be enforced,
and IDF soldiers will patrol the Oval enforcing curfew on the
Qalqiliya refugee camp.
We encourage students and activists from other universities to join
us at the camp and to participate in the week's events. Housing is
available to those who are interested; please use the contact address
at the bottom of this message for more information.
