Iraq’s terrorists have been slaughtering civilians for 2 years and now Amnesty International is gracing us with criticism of this mayhem. Better late than never? Well, almost. According to the BBC: A report by the UK-based group accuses anti-US forces in Iraq of showing "utter disdain for civilian life". That last sentence is where things start going down hill. Here we go: Amnesty acknowledges that many Iraqi citizens agree with the aims of the insurgency, to rid their country of the US-led military presence. And just how has Amnesty and/or the BBC determined that “many Iraqi citizens agree with the aims of the insurgency?” Wishful thinking? Anything to bash the Bush/Blair team? The group admits, "it is impossible to calculate with any confidence the true toll upon the civilian population," so how can it know how many Iraqis support their own deaths "with any confidence?" But it gets worse -- much worse. Downright disgusting. Amnesty is more worried about offending the terrorist vermin than it is concerned about exposing their atrocities. From Amnesty: The report does not use the term "terrorism". There is no internationally agreed definition of what constitutes "terrorism" and in practice the term is used to describe different forms of conduct. Today's report makes the "insurgency" fair and balanced -- an equal opportunity massacre. Amnesty has grudgingly deemed to notice the slaughter of civilians by terrorist filth in Iraq, but two years too late -- and only in very precise and politically correct language. |
