By the grace of God or by the incompetence of his self-appointed holy hit men, yesterday's attempted jihad repeat in London foundered, and there were no casualties. But it happened again. The mujahideen were unfazed by the disingenuous pronouncements of silver-tongued sheikhs and imams here in the dar al-Harb, condemning murder/suicide jihad attacks (except when they happen in Israel, Chechnya, India, Iraq...). They were likely pleased with the way Ken Livingstone, George Galloway, and other appeaseniks offered up the Western throat for their consideration. Chatham House providing the war on jihad in Iraq as a viable excuse for holy mass murder? Subhan Allah!—brilliant. And it's got to be encouraging to see lowlife Islamosupremacist sheikh, Omar Bakri Mohammed still preaching jihad free and easy on the British taxpayer's dime.

You can only hit the snooze button so many times before you need to wake up. That's life. One must be awake to face reality and get on with the business of living. And when the stakes are such that your way of life—your existence—is explicitly under threat, you'd better do whatever it takes to ensure that you're awake.

How many religious groups have expressly declared war on Western civilization? For how long? How many have made good on the threat? How often? How much more plain, lethal, and catastrophic does this crisis with Islamic jihad need to get?

After the death of Islam's creator in 635 C.E., medieval Europe's Christendom (no exemplar of a free and pluralistic society to be sure) was the one real challenge to Islam's initial campaign of violent, expansionist jihad under Caliph Umar Ibn al-Khattab. The Muslim hordes ravaged Europe from Spain to Greece, Constantinople, the Balkans, and the Caucasus. They annihilated anyone and anything in their path unable to withstand their unholy crusade for Allah. These days, Muslims nurse an 800 year-old grudge over Christian Europe's response to jihad's onslaught and Islamic imperialism. They've found a loyal ally in unwitting Western useful idiots on the left, who love the one-sided canard of the evil Christians blazing out of Europe, unprovoked, to impose their white man's religion on the noble Saracen savage. Communist or Islamic totalitarianism—whatever opposes Western liberal democracy, apparently...

Two things to bear in mind when considering the ideological substance and mechanics of jihad against the infidel are: 1.) It is an integral, doctrinal element of Islam, prescribed by God in the Qur'an and exemplified in the sunnah (traditions) of Muhammad in the hadith, to establish the supremacy of Muhammad's particular supernatural musings, and 2.) this doctrine has never been reformed and made compatible with the modern age through an enlightenment movement in the Muslim world. Examples include:

• Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. —Qur'an, 9.29
• Narrated Ibn 'Umar:

  Allah's Apostle said: "I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle, and offer the prayers perfectly and give the obligatory charity, so if they perform a that, then they save their lives an property from me except for Islamic laws and then their reckoning (accounts) will be done by Allah." —Sahih Bukhari, V1B2N24
  

• He it is Who hath sent His messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religion, however much the unbelievers hate it. —Qur'an, 9.33
  

Allah's soldiers will come back to Britain to take up the black banner of jihad. They will come to Italy, Canada, Australia, and again to America. Allah and His apostle have enjoined them to do so. The duty of violent, offensive jihad is holy, normative, and mainstream in Islam. It is compulsory, and it offers the highest honor a Muslim can attain: to enter paradise as a martyr (it is also the only guarantor of entry into paradise).

And it's not just the West that is slated for Islam's expansionist, supremacist agenda. There are 20+ jihad fronts open in the world at any given time. On these lawless frontiers of Islam, painted red with the blood of infidels, the mujahideen are slaughtering their way into Allah's favor as they did fourteen centuries ago when Islam was invented. Buddhists, Christians, atheists, Jews, Hindus—all are jihad fodder for the sociopathic deity of Islam and His narcissistic flunkies.

It's just that we are the greatest challenge. And when I say "we," I actually mean America, because year by year old Europa progresses by gradations further into Bat Yo'er's Eurabia. I just hope it's not too late for our European friends—the custodians of Western civilization's heritage—to get honest about the existential threat of Islam's jihad, the disaster of lax immigration policies along with the abysmal failure of multiculturalism, and the unchecked Muslim birthrate. In other words, I hope that Europe still has time to face reality. We'll see.

Until the entire free world can tear itself away from the ever-popular diversion of hating America, Israel, and George Bush for long enough to unite in the cause of defeating jihad, it will not go well for the infidels who are caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. In the meantime, it will be up to us and our friends in Britain, Australia, the Netherlands, and our other decent, upstanding allied nations to deal with these barbarians on a mission from Allah, who have once again arrived at the gates of our civilization.

I think the British will wake up. The Brits are almost a Europe unto themselves. They are strong, proud, and smart. And that Islamic alarm clock is making one heck of a cacophony over there right now too.

I hope Americans will keep from dozing off (deeper) into complacence. We were hit by the mujahideen on 9/11 not because we were at war with Muslims, but rather because of Islamic doctrine—to wit, because Muslims believe that on Muhammad's deathbed, he advised that everyone but Muslims be expelled from the Arabian Peninsula. Since our government climbed into bed with the Saudi kleptotheocrats after showing them where and how to get at their oil in the 1930s, our military presence in the K.S.A. increased, and this was more than the arrogant Muslim ego could take. We are also the the greatest symbol of freedom, the modern rule of law, and pluralism—all that Islam isn't. Oh yeah, we also love Israel. Ergo, 9/11.

We can't continue to hit the snooze button. I wish that more of us would read the Qur'an and hadith, and learn how to put the jihad warfare around the world into the context of this canonical Islamic literature, which is seen as inerrant by Muslims. It's all there in black and white, and we remain ignorant of it at our own peril, and the peril of our children. Make no mistake: we will beat these retrograde, medieval holy warriors, but many more of us will die in the meantime. That's a fact. It's the price we'll have to pay as we persist in rubbing our eyes, yawning, and drifting back off to sleep as our cities burn and our brothers and sisters (including Muslims) fall dead in front of the faithful who know "Surely, the gates of Paradise are under the shadows of the swords."
