Israel Offers Humanitarian Aid to Iraq
By Andrew L. Jaffee, 3/29/2003

Saddam lobbed SCUD missiles into Israel during the Gulf War in 1991. Saddam has executed his own people for being "Zionist" spies. Saddam pays Palestinians to blow up Israelis. Iraqi "diplomats" are constantly making anti-Semitic remarks. Should I go on or do you get the picture?

Despite these facts, little democratic Israel has offered to provide humanitarian aid to the Iraqi people. It is a little known fact that Israel actively aids its Arab neighbors and helps many other peoples.

Yes, little Israel, who African, Arab, and even European governments and media regularly make slanderous accusations about Israel being an "apartheid state" or practicing "genocide" and various other ridiculous assertions.

The main point here is when are Arab, African, and other Third World banana republics going to start acting civilized and treating Israel with its due respect?

The main problem here is that the vast majority of these banana republics are dictatorships. They are not really accountable to anyone (unless the US turns its awesome force their way). So they go along sweeping all their own problems under the rug and blame Israel for the world's problems. Freud called this "projection," where one's own real problems are projected onto surrounding people. Why should Arab governments tackle problems of economic deprivation, illiteracy, starvation, and foreign occupation (Syrian control of Lebanon) when they can use their state-controlled medias to fan the flames of hatred and get the mobs out for "protests."

"Keep the people focused on hating Jews, Israel, and the U.S., and we can stay in power," is the catch-phrase of these degenerate, totalitarian, brutal regimes (i.e., Egypt's Mubarak).

Good thing there's one big hitch to this happy status quo: the Americans. You know Syria and Iran and N. Korea are just a few of the banana republics proverbially "shitting in their pants" after seeing American resolve in Iraq. "Are we next?," is what they're all thinking.

I'll help them out, I think the order of business is 1) Syria, 2) N. Korea, and then 3) Iran (which may fall apart on its own by the time the U.S. gets to it).
