Islam's Tiny Minority

The true minority in Islam are those who categorically reject intolerance and jihad. This is because hatred of and war against the infidel are core Islamic principles. Case in point: the Ahmadiyya Muslim Movement. Since their group's inception in nineteenth century India under their spiritual leader, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, they have denounced the so-called lesser jihad of violent armed expansionist warfare against the kuffar. They have also since been roundly condemned as apostates by the mainstream Islamic community because of this. These people are the true visionaries of Islam, and they are largely ignored here in the West. They are reviled by mainstream Muslims for practicing the form of peaceful, spiritual jihad that the Western left's useful idiots for Islamofascism believe is representative of all Islam because they buy into the taqiyya of Salafi front groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Muslim American Society (MAS), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA)—groups which have been allowed to dominate the discourse on Islam in America. (Salafiyyah is simply pure, orthodox Sunni Islam.) The Ahmadiyya are the sort of group that represents real hope for reform in Islam, and it is no surprise that they have been able to establish themselves in our free and pluralistic society: Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA They should be given support and encouragement instead of the marginalization they find themselves experiencing not only by American Muslims, but also by infidels. Not many of us know about them. President Bush would do well to send his envoys to this weekend's Ahmadiyya conference to celebrate their 57th anniversary here in America instead of sending them to events organized by Wahhabi snakes like the ISNA. In fact, he should be attending Ahmadiyya events himself when possible. Being seen with this real tiny minority in Islam would go a long way toward showing his commitment to pluraity and freedom and also toward helping the Ahmadiyya to gain wider recognition and respect. The President's appointment of Ahmed Saeed, a lifetime member of the Ahmadiyya community, to the 2004-2005 Class of White House Fellows was a good show of support, and one which would be wise to build upon. CAIR, MAS, the ISNA and their ilk should be ignored until they unequivocally condemn jihad by Hamas, al-Qaeda, Abu Sayyaf, and all other mujahideen terror gangs. The President sends mixed signals to Muslims and infidels alike when he meets with moderate Islamic groups like the small Sufi organiazation, the Islamic Supreme Council of America, but also allows his administration to be tied to anti-American shari'ah-by-stealth groups that operate under the guise of protecting Muslims' civil rights. Continued backing for the Saudi-funded jihad front organizations that run America's mosques, Islamic schools, and other Islamic institutions is not worth oil contracts or the prestige of P.C. multicultural inaction embraced by uncritical leftist Western academics, intelligentsia, and other death cult apologists.
