Today, Arab terrorists killed at least 80 Iraqi Arabs and wounded more than 100. The car bomb which wrought this mass murder was aimed at the Tomb of Ali in Iraqi city of Najaf. Shia Muslims consider the Tomb of Ali to be one of their most sacred shrines. Ayatollah Mohammed Baqr al-Hakim, a prominent Shia leader, was one of those killed in the blast. As leader of the Iran-backed Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq, the Ayatollah could hardly be considered a steadfast U.S. ally.

The venerable BBC is already trying to pin the blame for the attack on the U.S. They quoted Hamid al-Bayati, some Shia spokesman (arm-chair quarterback) from London as saying:

We proposed to the allies a long time ago to have a special security organisation to protect the holy places and the scholar.

The BBC's short-term, agenda-driven memory already forgets that Iraqis insisted that U.S. troops stay away from the Tomb of Ali back on April 3. According to the BBC, the U.S. can do nothing right. I'm just waiting for Reuters, The Nation, and the rest of the left-wing nincompoops to blame the U.S. for this latest Arab/Muslim-on-Arab/Muslim massacre.

I guess they'll blame the U.S. for the bombing of Iraq's U.N. headquarters which killed so many Iraqis. They'll blame America for Arab/Muslim terrorists who killed so many Arabs when they bombed the Jordanian embassy in Baghdad. They'll blame the U.S. for Arab/Muslim terrorists intentionally depriving Iraqis of drinking water and much-needed oil revenues? How about when Arab terrorists killed 41 and wounded 100 in a homicide bombing in Casablanca, Morocco? What about the Arab/Muslim atrocity against Arabs/Muslims in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia that killed 34? Oh, and what about Kuwait's expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees after the Gulf war in 1991? Was that America's fault?

This blame-game against the U.S. is fear and cowardice of the worst kind. Leftists think that if they stick their heads in the ground, they'll avoid all global conflicts. Well, wake up people, the terrorists have been bringing terror to all parts of the world for years. Blaming America is just an excuse for leftists to shirk all personal responsibility they have for what's going on around them. If its "blood-for-oil," then why do so many leftists drive cars and fill their tanks up with gasoline extracted by multinational companies from Arab/Muslim lands?
