Senator John Kerry, the Democratic Party nominee for the 2004 presidential election, claims that “foreign leaders” want him to be the next U.S. president. On Monday, Monsieur Kerry said,

I've met foreign leaders who can't go out and say this publicly, but boy they look at you and say, 'You've got to win this, you've got to beat this guy [Bush], we need a new policy.' Things like that.

I wonder which “leaders” Kerry is talking about. He probably meant members of the Axis of Weasel, like French President Jacques Chirac and German Chancellor Gerhardt Schroeder. Maybe he also meant Weasels like Syrian President Assad. What about Yasser Arafat? All of these “leaders” definitely want Bush to go. With Bush gone, they can go back to appeasing terrorists, supporting terrorists, and/or doing business with terrorists. Don’t forget how hard the Weasels tried to keep Bush from toppling Saddam.

I guess Kerry yearns for the good old days of a weakened U.S., when dealing with terror meant placating terrorists. Bill Clinton propped up the world’s #1 terrorist/dictator, Yasser Arafat, in the 1990’s and treated him like a democratically elected head of state. Even President Ronald Reagan turned tail and ran when faced with a homicide bombing against U.S. troops in Lebanon. Not only does Kerry yearn for the good old days, he himself tried to weaken America’s intelligence services -- and not so long after the first World Trade Center bombing.

In 1995, Kerry sponsored a bill that would have slashed the U.S. intelligence budget by $1.5 billion over a span of five years. As President Bush so aptly put Kerry’s record:

This bill was so deeply irresponsible that it didn't have a single co-sponsor in the United States Senate. Once again, Senator Kerry is trying to have it both ways. He's for good intelligence, and yet he was willing to gut the intelligence services, and that is no way to lead in a time of war.

I agree with Bush. Do you want Kerry to become president, pull us out of Iraq, and try again to gut our intelligence network -- at a time when Islamists are flying jetliners full of innocent people into buildings full of innocents? Kerry claims the war on terrorism should be primarily a “law enforcement operation.” Is this guy crazy? Do you want a president elected by the American people or one that the Axis of Weasel prefers?
