John Kerry said today that the Bush Administration’s Iraq policy has “failed utterly.” As usual, Kerry has got it all wrong. Don’t believe me? Just ask the Iraqi people. An opinion poll of 2,500 Iraqis conducted last month showed that 49% believed the US-led invasion was justified, while 39% said it was the wrong thing to do. 57% felt life was better without Saddam, while 19% claimed it was worse, and 23% said things were about the same. 70% claimed life was “good” now, while 29% said it was “bad.” 71% said they expected the situation in Iraq to improve within a year, while 6% said things would get worse, and 9% expected life would be the same. Remember that Kerry tried to sabotage progress in Iraq by voting against an $87 billion package to fund the war and help finance the country’s reconstruction. Apparently, Kerry is willing to sacrifice the future of Iraq to gain brownie points from the legions of the left-wing, politically correct. |
