Looks like the European Union is headed for trouble in due time. Whatever happened to free trade among European states? Well, Switzerland seems on the right path if it keeps itself out of the Union. As a result, its economy is doing quite well with venture capital initiatives taking the lead on the continent. Other areas of Europe are also considering zones for free trade. The operative word here is “free” rather than “control.”

Just ask the former Warsaw Pact nations who won’t shut up!

Could this be the last of the “Wrath of Farrakhan”? Here’s hoping.

Colombian guerillas are playing hard ball with the Colombian and U.S. governments. In exchange for three kidnapped Americans captured last week, the FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia) demand the release of guerillas held in Colombia’s jails.

While I feel for the kidnapped Americans and their families, neither the U.S. nor Colombian governments should make deals with the FARC. This isn’t a police action. It’s war. Americans who visit Colombia should know the risks. No compromise or deals should be made with the guerillas. They are no more than terrorists.
