Despite a July 30 UN resolution calling on the Sudan to reign in Arab militias committing rape, mass murder, ethnic cleansing, and forced starvation against Black Africans in Darfur, fresh revelations of atrocities have emerged.

The UN says that Sudanese government helicopter gunships have bombed the country’s western Darfur province. A report from Human Rights Watch (HRW) has documented the Sudanese government’s support for Arab militias carrying out other atrocities:

"In many rural areas and small towns in Darfur, government forces and the Janjaweed [Arab] militias continue to routinely rape and assault women and girls when they leave the periphery of the camps and towns," it says. …

"Civilians continue to be attacked and killed in joint government and Janjaweed militia raids, particularly in South Darfur," Human Rights Watch says.

It [HRW] also accuses the government of incorporating militia fighters into the police and other state security forces.

Of course, Sudan denies all charges, and is backed by the Arab League. 50,000 people have been killed by the Sudan/ Janjaweed rampage. One million people have been forced from their homes. Many face starvation if the rampage isn’t stopped.
