Nepotism at the UN?

The Houston Chronicle reported today:

The son of Secretary-General Kofi Annan received payments from a firm with a U.N. Iraqi oil-for-food contract more than four years longer than the world body previously admitted, the U.N. spokesman said Friday.

Through oil-for-food, Saddam stole “$10.1 billion through oil smuggling and kickbacks from suppliers.”

Leave it to the U.N. to pull off one of the biggest scandals in world history. Evidence is emerging from the oil-for-food investigation of Saddam/al-Qaeda connections, Saddam’s illegal purchase of weapons, and how common Iraqis suffered under a plan meant to help them – suffered more than they did before this great humanitarian effort was begun.

It’s bad enough to find that the UN was involved. Now we find that the UN Secretary General’s own son was involved, and the UN has been covering up details of his involvement.
