Duh (403-3)
I really try not to drag the good Clarity & Resolve name through the noxious muck of politics too much. Yeah, I do give the left a hard time over its increasingly strident—and growing—faction that is bent on tearing down America and enabling Islamic terror no matter what, but I know that not all liberals run with that deranged, self-loathing mob. Also, I have my issues with the more extreme elements of the right. Somewhere between Joe Lieberman and a bit past John McCain… is your humble blogger.
Anyway, while I may castigate the left here, I’m not a cheerleader for the right either. I just want to win big against the jihad which has all of us squarely in its sights. Perhaps due to an inordinately powerful naivete-that-won’t-quit gene (located on the eleventh chromosome, if I’m not mistaken), I have this wacky idea that Americans on the right and left should put aside their differences for at least long enough to recognize that we all have a vested interest in kicking the living daylights out of the mujahideen everywhere, in grand, roaring style. Man, I can be so stupid sometimes.
Oy, the Democratic party… What the heck, you guys? Have Michael Moore, Medea Benjamin, and Howard Dean finally found a way to implant a stupid chip in your brains and crank it up to ten? Jeez! Our guys are wiping the desert sands of Iraq eleven ways to Ramadan with the death cult’s best, and you bozos are a walking, talking caricature of a loopy Irrational America Hatred Syndrome (IAHS) thread on Democratic Underground! This is what the visceral hatred of George W. Bush, and the politicians who pander to it, has brought us to. Prolonged, hysterical contempt short circuits the ethics and logic that are absolutely necessary to protect us, and the next thing you know the war on Islamofascism is just a memory of some neocon-fabricated scam, and it’s a pre-9/11 partisan free-for-all. I guess when you’ve got so much of the mainstream media playing your song, it must be hard not to dance, though. It’s sickening, and we need you guys to get it together, at least on this crucial matter.
I don’t care which side of the aisle you’re on. I’m registered to vote, and that’s it. No party, no allegiance, except to America. Just do your job. Stop with the partisan idiocy unless it’s about something that won’t affect national security. Get over the stark, ossified, binary right/left stranglehold that is once again beginning to grip the politics of making sure America and Americans are safe. Any other area, have at it kids (and really, that’s how they’re acting), because at least we’ll be alive to debate it. Let our fighting men and women finish the awesome job they’ve been trained to do, and which they’ve been performing with the utmost professionalism and excellence. As Colonel James Brown in Iraq said in response to this latest Cindy Sheehan emulation stunt, “Here on the ground, our job is not done.”
Meanwhile, the mujahideen simply adore this spectacle.
“Are you waiting for anything to befall us except victory or martyrdom? We are waiting for God’s scourge to smite you, direct from Him or at our hands. Wait if you will; we too are waiting.” —Koran 9:52
Iraq is the singlemost important battlefield that America has fought on since World War II, and I regret to say that well over half of us have absolutely no conception of the enormity of this conflict. We can’t cut and run, and we can’t allow this to become a political matter. It’s an American matter, a matter of freedom and justice, and a matter of putting an American military sized hurt on the people flocking to Iraq who are united in their medieval resolve to destroy us. We have to win this one.
