The Pope Grovels Before Angry Muslims

Pope Benedict XVI has joined the chorus appeasing the Muslim cartoon protestors:

“…it is both vital and urgent that religions and their symbols are respected and that believers are not the object of provocations.”

“Vital and urgent” that the West silence free expression? Shouldn’t people be able to look at the cartoons so they can know for themselves what the fuss is all about? This is how it works in civilized societies.

At face value, the Pope is blaming those who have published the cartoons — the provocateurs. Where is his condemnation of the uncivilized savagery of the Muslim terrorists — those truly responsible for the murder and mayhem; those whose faith goes no deeper than the ink on paper?

The Muslim rampaging, killing, and burning is working — on the Pope, at least. He and many others have been successfully intimidated into submission. That is what defines terrorism: terrifying others into surrender.

Some Muslim cleric in Pakistan has offered to pay $1 million to “anyone who kills one of the cartoonists.” This is religious faith? No Papal declarations against Muslim fatwahs?

Does Benedict realize his own religion is under seige? One would think he would be a little smarter. But he is just terrified.

I agree that the Pope Benedict and Vatican are terrified by radical Islam as you point out.

There is however perhaps another reason for the Pope’s silence, beyond general words that fall into the category, “Its not nice for Muslims to do horrible things, but we will reach out and keep trying to dialogue with Islam to achieve mutual understanding, tolerance, etc……”

Perhaps the Vatican and the whole of Christendom does not speak out and encourage action be taken against radical Islam because of some smug sense of security in numbers and that those numbers will allow Christianity to weather the storm of assaults that Islam perpetrates on Christians, Jews and other non-Muslims.

To just cite a few instances of Christian silence as radical Islam perpetrates its evil on Christianity:

The Sudan has been at war for the last 15 or so years. The Muslim government in the north has been the aggressor, murdering millions of Christians and animists. Christianity has been silent.

Before 1967, Bethlehem was 80% Christian. With Palestinian persecution of Christians that per centage is down to 20%.

The notorious temporary takeover of the Church of the Nativity by Palestinian terrorists where they desecrated the Church did not move the Vatican to speak out except to castigate Israel.

Christians and Churches in the Middle East have been attacked and destroyed by angry Muslim mobs without provocation, other than radical Muslims working up the crowd over some perceived offence or no offence at all, but for a untrue pretext that somehow they see as gaining Islam some advantage.

Recently a report of a young Christian girl set upon by Muslims who raped, tortured and then beheaded her drew no cries of outrage from the Vatican or Christendom.

And what of Christian concern so often preached for all of Gods people including non-Christians? Not a word as Jews and other non-Muslims are persecuted and attacked for no reason beyond the hate that radical Muslims feel for them.

    I could go on.

Maybe my thoughts about smug confidence in numbers is not a factor.

I am however convinced that it is not just fear that explains why the Vatican and Christendom remain silent as Christianity is attacked in the most egregious, disrespectful, and horrific ways time and again by these radical Muslims who zealously follow a brutal, inhumane and evil creed.

There has been reason piled on reason over the last 30 years or so, for Christianity and all of the West to rise up and destroy the monstrous evil of radical Islam which includes a very great many radical Islamists who dress up in the garb of Moderate Islam.

The only thing I can be sure of is that reason will continue to pile up on reason and Christendom and the West will continue to keep their swords in their scabbards as radical Islam carries on with its hacking and slashing to inflict a death of a 1,000 cuts on the West.

One can only hope and pray that there will at some point be a straw that breaks the back of Western and Christian feebleness and paralysis in failing to defend itself from the ongoing assault of Islam.

One big difference is that Christians are forbidden from killing. This is how the Muslims have one advantage. Their holy book sanctions the killing of unbelievers. You can find the verse yourself in any online Koran… goes something like “Kill the unbelievers wherever ye may find them.” Yup. And don’t deny it Muzzies!

Homophobic Pope Benedict, speaking out on a topic that Italy’s incoming centre-left government will likely have to confront, on Thursday condemned gay marriage and legal recognition of unwed couples
