The Senate is now considering legislation that would impose controls on the unprecedented flood of illegal immigrants pouring into the United States. I urge readers to write to their senators and ask them to put a stop to illegal immigration (see below for tips).
There are now 11 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. They are avoiding taxes, getting free health care (in emergency rooms), getting free education, being protected by law enforcement, and availing themselves of other social services — and letting the American taxpayer foot the bill. Illegals are “driving municipal budgets deep into the red;” needless to mention the strain they place on state and federal budgets.
The world has 6 billion people. The U.S. has 300 million. There’s not room for everyone. While it is true that some illegals do the work that some citizens are unwilling to do, the short-term gains will mean the long-term end to American prosperity and values (like democracy). Assimilation takes time. When does the U.S. become unmanageable? When the population reaches 400, 500, 600 million? How do we educate immigrants at the current, rapid pace of influx?
Write to your senators now. Tell them to support legislation that would:

- make it a felony to enter the United States illegally;
- deport illegal immigrants;
- impose greater penalties on employers who hire illegal immigrants;
- tighten security by increasing the number of qualified personnel patrolling our borders;
- erect fences along the U.S.-Mexican border; and,
- toss out the notions of “amnesty” and “guest worker” permits for illegal immigrants.
Note that I fully support legal immigration. My grandparents on both my mother and father’s sides immigrated to the U.S., but did so legally.

There are four problems that you ought to confront when making this very just argument:
1) Illegal immigrants will find a way into this country no matter what, be it tunneling or by water ala Elian Gonzales.
2) It is impossible to eliminate even a majority of the existing illegal aliens, especially if they understand that problemas await them. We may very well end up getting rid of the hardworking people and leaving only the underground criminals we’re looking for (MS-13).
3) Our economy is such that China may very well overtake us for the sole reason of their cheap labor, yet liberalization has led to an endless increase in wages that threatens our very economic relevance. We need cheap labor.
4) We have a moral obligation to give our neigbors a chance at survival, and there is a legal way to do so. The Guest Worker program. While I oppose Cardinal Mahony’s measures, I cannot argue with the Christian message of love therein.

It has always being the Mexican earth. The triangle is inverting. If George Mason University can reach the Final 4, The Mexican can reclaim what was once robbed from them through systematic genoside!!

¿Cuál es este bullshit de “Aztlan”? Esto es racista e históricamente inexacto. Es usted que dice esa Illinois, Ohio, Oregon, Alaska, etc., ¿pertenezca al mexicano?

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I think…
(I’m guessing “bullshit” means “bullshit” in English)
To Revolutionary, it wasn’t genocide, it was a war between two conventional militaries over conventional boundary disputes. The same thing happened in every other continent in World History.

little-cicero:
Thanks for chiming in. This “Aztlan” movement is pretty scary, but nonetheless is being abetted by, for example, municipalities in California. In my previous comment, I attempted to engage in Spanish, but I don’t think there’s hope for people like Mr. Revolutionary.

Next thing you know the Romans will be asking for Brittania back. Luckily though, Tony Blair seems up to the task. I’m sure he can rekindle the old alliance with the Celts and the Visigoths.
