Israel: Secure in its Masculinity (and Femininity)

Many women in the Arab/Muslim world are forced to cover their entire bodies; can’t drive cars; aren’t allowed to vote; and, in Pakistan, are “raped every two hours and gang-raped every eight hours.” On the other hand, Israel is so secure in its sense of human balance that it arms its women — all 18-year old girls and boys serve in the army. The Jewish state had a female prime minister. Indeed, women permeate all strata of Israeli society. So who is really evolved in the Middle East? Miss Israel: you go girl…
Miss Israel has been given permission not to carry her assault rifle during service in the Israeli army because she says it bruises her legs.
Reigning beauty queen Yael Nezri, a private who recently completed basic training, says the bruises are making it difficult for her to model in photo shoots.
The Jerusalem Post reports Ms Nezri, 18, has been granted an exemption by her commanders for her two-year army stint.
Limousine liberals rant about Israel being the root of all evil, but are really cowards whom don’t know right from wrong. They embrace Arab/Muslim terrorist murderers as the “underdogs,” and see Israelis as cowboys exterminating the Palestinian “Indians.” Many “liberals” see the world upside-down, inside-out. So afraid and so simple-minded, the “progressives” take the lowest road and blame the tiny minority of Jews for all the world’s problems.
Israel is the island of freedom, pearl by the sea, which gleams in a desert of despotism, backwardness, and savagery. I guess it’s easy to be a “feminist” when not threatened with gang rape or beheading, for those lucky enough to live in Berlin or San Francisco. Israeli women have a true cause: defending their freedom as equals with men, not from within, but against Islamist neighbors. People should be looking for true female role-models in the Jewish state. Israeli women are walking the walk, while many of their “compatriots” in other Western countries are all talk.

Such a little country up against such great odds… and yet it flourishes as the Middle East’s only true democracy.
