Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas asserted Monday that the “Mecca pact is a Palestinian interior business and Israel has no right to reject it.” Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert warned: “Up to now, Abbas has been an opponent of Hamas. If the new government makes the same inflated demands of Israel, it will show that [Abbas] has moved from his previous position, toward Hamas.” (… but Arabs have the right to reject the right of Israel to exist! The deal does not include the recognition of Israel and the renunciation of violence.)
