Mac Brachman was kind enough to point out that the Iranian immigrant who beat 3 relatives to death with a hammer in Chicago may not have been Muslim. I have researched the issue and cannot find anything definitive, but I post Mr. Brachman’s comments here nonetheless:

Mr. Jaffee: Please read the local (Chicago) articles more closely. These Iranian immigrants happened to be CHRISTIANS, not Muslims. I’m Jewish, very pro-Israel, and very anti-Islamofascist, but Islamic extremism does not appear to have been a factor in this case. This was an immigrant man, unable to find work, who apparently went off his nut and murdered his wife, her sister, and both women’s mother in a fit of possibly psychotic rage, then turned the hammer on himself in a failed attempt at suicide. It does not help the cause of anti-Islamofascism to assume that every bit of psychotic murder carried out by a Middle Easterner is done in the name of extremist Islam. Such thinking is merely bigotry. …

The news articles say that Mr. Ebrahami and the murdered members of his family were Assyrians, refugees from Iran. As in Iraq, Assyrians in Iran are an ethnic minority who are overwhelmingly Christians. The 55-year-old accused murderer said that the women had “disrespected” him, apparently when he was unable to find work. The couple’s young daughter (niece of the murdered sister-in-law and granddaughter of the murdered mother-in-law) was not harmed and survives. Mr. Jaffee, you need to correct your mistake online both on your website and on Israpundit. Please do so before you bring discredit to all who fight Islamofascism.

A Dubai man killed his sister merely for suspecting that she was cheating on her husband. Iran has created a vacation resort just for women. Visitors to the resort will have to pass a sign which reads, “No men allowed!” The Islamist track-record for the ill treatment of women is well-documented, and only getting worse. This anti-feminine bent is not some multi-cultural idiosyncrasy to be tolerated by the West. Rather it is a malignant cancer — a symptom of a backward, Stone Age culture which seeks to force its “sensibilities” on the rest of the world. Islamist beliefs toward women belie a deeply repressed mentality, unable to trust its own desires, and fearful that women could attain societal power. When I say “repressed,” I don’t only mean it in the political sense, but in the Freudian also. Read on for the gory details.

A man has been charged with the premeditated murder of his sister who was shot dead in the country’s second “honour crime” this year. The suspect, a taxi driver, told police he killed his 22-year-old married sister after receiving an anonymous call suggesting she was having “extramarital affairs”. The caller told the man his sister’s picture was “circulating on men’s mobile phones”. It was also revealed the authorities had arrested the woman last year and kept her briefly in administrative detention – a protection measure to ensure she was not harmed by her family – after she ran away from home.

U.S. Policy calls for Nuclear Retaliation

It is well known that militant “Islamic” terrorists have no regard whatsoever for human life, and their use of chemical weapons against Iraqi civilians simply underscores this fact. Before they think of using a similar weapon against Americans, they should remember that American policy is that nuclear = chemical = biological. The United States makes no distinction between the use of any kind of weapon of mass destruction (i.e. nuclear, chemical, or biological) against its Armed Forces or homeland, and reserves the right to retaliate in kind. Since the United States does not possess biological or chemical munitions, the nature of the retaliation should be obvious. We would not only support but demand the use of tactical nuclear weapons were Michael Moore’s “Minutemen” to use WMDs on our men and women in uniform, as long as it could be accomplished without harm to innocent bystanders.

Resolutions introduced in both the US Senate and House of Representatives this week very belatedly recognizing that there was once a Jewish refugee crisis in the Middle East are both promising and dangerous.

It is promising that a body with as much influence as the US Congress is pushing the issue of the international community’s need to address the fact that hundreds of thousands of Jews were dispossessed and expelled by the Arab states they called home just 50-some years ago.

Most Americans don’t need a program to tell the good guys from the bad guys in the Middle East, but there are some–like John Edwards and George Soros–who obviously do. The alternate explanation is that they know who the good guys are, but their loyalties have been bought by hostile foreign powers or domestic enemies (e.g. Soros) so they pretend that the good guys are the villains, and vice versa. Either way, Freedom House provides an excellent program for those who feel the need for one.

This column will also underscore the fact that, contrary to the assertions of anti-Semites, individuals whose loyalties have been bought with Islamofascist oil money, and the Soros-Occupied Government (SOG), Americans support Israel primarily because Israel is the good guy (democracy) and its enemies are the bad guys (dictatorships, theocracies, and terrorists) that have been the United States’ enemies since its foundation. This would be true if Israelis were Christians, Buddhists, or Hindus.

John Edwards is growing proof that the Democratic Party has been hijacked by left-wing ideologues, many of whom are in the pay of the shadowy international financier George Soros. While Soros and his people have yet to make major inroads into state-level Democratic parties (those in the Pennsylvania Legislature seem to stand for traditional Democratic values), the national party is as out of control as the four hijacked airplanes were on that Tuesday morning in September 2001. Contrary to the claim by Soros’ minions at MoveOn.org that they “bought” the Democratic Party, the party belongs to middle-class working Americans, and it is past time to take it back.

In addition to proposing to knife our Armed Forces in the back, John Edwards has joined George Soros in denouncing Israel as a menace to peace. Edwards has also joined MoveOn.org in promoting the vilest imaginable forms of anti-Catholic hate speech, and the Democratic Party includes millions of Catholics who will doubtlessly vote Republican or stay home when they find out what Edwards’ people and MoveOn.org is saying about them. The same goes for Jewish voters who learn the truth about these people.

Iran faces a deadline today to suspend its enrichment of uranium or, according to the terms of a U.N. Security Council resolution unanimously adopted last December, face further sanctions. While it is only proper that the world wait for the deadline to pass before responding, Tehran’s answer is already clear. Gholam Reza Aghzadeh, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, has said that “Iran will not comply with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1737.”

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) — An attack by three suicide car bombers Monday near a U.S.-Iraqi outpost killed two American soldiers and eight Iraqi police officers, Iraqi officials told CNN. …After a series of three suicide car bombings, 50 gunmen opened fire on the outpost, the Iraqi officials said. Insurgents fired small arms and threw grenades after an initial car bombing, a U.S. military official said.

The Subcommittee on Middle East and South Asia of the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs held a hearing on February 14, 2007, titled “Next Steps in Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process.” Three witnesses appeared before the subcommittee: Martin Indyk of the Brookings Institution, David Makovsky of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, and myself. Volkert van de Graaf, a leftist animal rights activist, murdered prime ministerial candidate Pim Fortuyn while radical Islamist Mohammed Bouyeri killed filmmaker Theo Van Gogh. Though coming from different backgrounds, their actions point to the commingling of leftist and Islamist ideologies in Holland and how the two in their separate ways struck at the core of liberal Western beliefs. Although both young men were educated in Holland, a country renowned for openness and social tolerance, they both relied on murder to silence the opponents of their totalitarian beliefs.

In a December 9th e-mail signed by “Eli Pariser, Justin Ruben, and the whole MoveOn PAC team,” the Soros front group stated: “In the last year, grassroots contributors like us gave more than $300 million to the Kerry campaign and the DNC, and proved that the Party doesn’t need corporate cash to be competitive. Now it’s our Party: we bought it, we own it, and we’re going to take it back.”
