The National Jewish Democratic Council, which attempted to whitewash MoveOn.org’s vicious hate speech last year while posting anti-Semitic “Jews as Christian haters” propaganda on its own blog, has suddenly decided that hate speech is bad–when it comes from sources like Ann Coulter and Michael Savage. We note, incidentally, that Michael Savage is among the country’s most vocal opponents of militant Islam, and his show has more than eight million listeners.

“Savage Hate Speech” at the National Judenrat Democratic Council’s blog says, “to those who have heard Savage’s radio show, it is obvious that his hate filled-rage knows no bounds. Media Matter has a disturbing example of Savage’s tasteless diatribes in which he actually compares homosexual men and women to Nazis.” It is entirely consistent with NJDC’s total lack of character and ethics that it cites Savage’s remarks out of context, as we will demonstrate below.

First, however, the National Jewish Democratic Council needs to get the beam out of its own eye (and the swastika off its armband) before it points to the mote in Michael Savage’s or Ann Coulter’s. “Swastika off its armband” is no exaggeration, noting that NJDC posted relabeled and repackaged “Jews hate Christians” propaganda on its own web log. Republicans’ Elephant in the Room at the NJDC blog site quotes columnist and Columbia University professor Samuel Freedman as follows.

More than identifying the schism on any specific topic, the research describes a visceral distrust, bordering on antipathy, for Evangelical Christians on the part of American Jews.

Even had NJDC not knowingly and willfully whitewashed MoveOn.org’s anti-Semitic, anti-Catholic, and anti-Evangelical hate speech (thus allying itself with MoveOn.org against ourselves and those we are working with to expose it for the hate organization it is), the above statement would be enough to make NJDC our sworn and declared enemy. The material quoted by the National “Jewish” Democratic Council is similar to Nazi propaganda whose purpose was to incite hatred of Jews, which puts NJDC in the same camp as organizations like the Ku Klux Klan. From “Propaganda and Children during the Hitler Years” by Mary Mills at Nizkor’s Web site,

Drawing on several centuries of anti-semitism, Bauer intensifies her anti-semitic assault by making the virtuous German the object of the Jewish hate. …An example of this concept of the Jew as a Christian-hater occurs in Uncovered Jewry, Or A Thorough And Truthful Report About The Horrible Ways The Hidden Jews Desecrate The Holy Trinity.

Yes, and the National Jewish Democratic Council cites “a visceral distrust, bordering on antipathy, for Evangelical Christians on the part of American Jews” in its eagerness to damage Jewish-Evangelical relations for political purposes. We assure our Evangelical friends that, in any conflict between them and NJDC, we will line up with them against NJDC without hesitation. Meanwhile, they and anyone else who wishes to do so is encouraged to copy and circulate the following:

“National Judenrat Democratic Council” is indeed an appropriate term, noting that a Judenrat was a Nazi-appointed group of Jewish collaborators (the willfulness of which ranged from reluctant to eager) whose job was to convince Jewish communities that the cattle cars would really take Jews to pleasant relocation camps as opposed to extermination facilities. NJDC’s Ira Forman similarly lied to Jewish voters when he said,

Jewish voters should take comfort in knowing that MoveOn.org is not a haven for anti-Semitism and the organization will renounce and remove any postings of the sort. Leave it to Republicans to not allow the truth to get in the way of campaigning.

NJDC was provided with ample evidence that MoveOn.org knew about the hate speech on its Action Forum, as shown by this E-mail of October 28, 2006. Since NJDC persisted in whitewashing MoveOn.org despite this independently-verifiable proof, the above statement must be regarded as a knowing and willful lie as opposed to a mistake.

Gentlemen,

It seems that your friends at MoveOn.org took down the Action Forum but left up the FAQ (don’t worry, I copied the whole page for when they realize their mistake and try to hide the evidence next week) and the FAQ proves that they saw every single piece of hate speech– not once but twice. This proof is already spreading all over the Internet, and has been turned over to the opponents of every single candidate who has taken MoveOn.org’s endorsement, along with the Republican Jewish Coalition.

How can I make sure someone at MoveOn reads my post ? All comments are read at least twice. While there is no single criteria, comments that suggest a possible MoveOn action and are not duplicative are likely to be immediately passed on, or included in a summary to the whole MoveOn team. Ratings, while important, are not definitive and some comments with few or low ratings are included in the summaries. Important issues are sometimes followed up with a survey to a sampling of the membership.

Just what does your moderator do? Our moderators are better described as monitors. They spend the vast majority of their time looking for comments to pass on to the MoveOn team and doing weekly forum summaries. With regard to moderating, their goal is to help create a space to facilitate input. It is not their goal to remove every comment that might be inappropriate. The first line of moderators are our members, who rate inappropriate comments low.

I am confident that JFJ will be withdrawing its pro-MoveOn petition at the start of next week while NJDC distances itself from MoveOn.org as if MoveOn had leprosy, the Black Plague, and Ebola rolled into one. I am sure your organizations will not use their status as Jewish-run groups to run interference for and whitewash an organization that has knowingly and willfully welcomed anti-Semitic and other forms of hate speech on its forum, where its moderators read every single item not once but twice.

So hate speech like “Jew Lieberman,” “whining, arrogant Jew [Tom Lantos],” and “Catholic Pedophiles of America” is acceptable when it comes from NJDC’s friends at MoveOn.org, and it is also acceptable for NJDC itself to tell the public that Jews have a “visceral distrust” of Evangelical Christians. However, the following statement by Michael Savage is not acceptable to NJDC, because his so-called hate speech is bad while their own has a million excuses to justify it.

Yeah, I mean, why be ashamed to tell your child what reality is? You can’t tell a child what reality is? Maybe in a few years you won’t be able to tell your child that. Maybe they could turn you in like in Nazi Germany — “Mommy told me that two women are not normal.”

Contrary to NJDC’s accusation that Savage “compares homosexual men and women to Nazis,” he said that people might be turned in to the authorities for objecting to homosexuality. (Turning people in to the authorities for saying the wrong things was common not only in Nazi Germany but also in Soviet Russia, where children were encouraged to inform on their parents.)

NJDC also apparently objects to the following:

On the February 26 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, after playing an audio clip of the beginning of singer Melissa Etheridge’s acceptance speech at the Academy Awards in which she thanked her wife and four children, Michael Savage said: “I don’t like a woman married to a woman. It makes me want to puke. … I want to vomit when I hear it. I think it’s child abuse.” Savage later similarly stated: “I want to puke when I hear about a woman married to a woman raising children because, frankly, I think that it’s child abuse to do that to children without their permission. What does a child know? Ask them when they’re 16 whether they want to be raised by two lesbians or two men,”

Note that Savage is not attacking Etheridge for being a lesbian, but he is criticizing the idea of children being raised by a lesbian couple. Our Libertarian position is that what two (or more) consenting adults do in private is none of our business, society’s business, or the government’s business. When the upbringing of children is involved, however, it is no longer a private matter. A strong argument can be made that two mommies or two daddies is not a normal role model for children, and is therefore not in their best interests. Dr. Savage obviously has a very insensitive way of putting it, but this is part of his act.

NJDC expands on its self-serving hypocrisy by condemning Ann Coulter’s use of a pejorative for homosexuals with regard to John Edwards. NJDC did not, however, express any dismay over Edwards’ bloggers at Pandagon and Shakespeare’s Sister suggesting, for example, that Jesus’ mother should have considered “Plan B” (abortion or contraception) while smearing Christian conservatives as “Christiofascists.” Again, some hate speech is more equal than other hate speech, because NJDC has no standards, ethics, or values. All it has is a self-serving poltiical agenda.

While Michael Savage agrees with us 90 percent of the time on matters like Islamofascism and illegal immigration, we recognize that much of what he does is an act, and it is sometimes necessary to separate the wheat from the chaff. On the other hand, he is a consistent and unrelenting voice against the menace of Islamofascism, and he originated the very useful term “Hitler in a Headscarf.” He does not hesitate to shove the truth into our faces, e.g. by playing recordings of victims screaming as militant “Muslims” saw their heads off, or by doing parodies of Mainland Chinese officials selling the organs of political prisoners. More recently, he exposed Chinese animal abuse by recounting how Chinese authorities hang pet dogs or club them to death. He is blunt and abrasive, he gets in people’s faces, and he does not mince words in an effort to be liked or for political expediency. This makes him infinitely preferable to the liars, dissemblers, and political hacks at the National “Jewish” Democratic Council.
