…plus contempt and ridicule for Jews it doesn’t like
by Bill Levinson
We have previously described how the National Jewish Democratic Council (which is about as representative of decent Jews as the Ku Klux Klan is of decent Caucasian Gentiles) tried to whitewash MoveOn.org’s racist, anti-Semitic, and anti-Christian hate speech while publishing anti-Semitic propaganda to damage Jewish-Evangelical relations. We have now had the opportunity to review NJDC’s “Bubbie” ads, which supported John Kerry’s candidacy in 2004. In addition to presenting a sterotyped Jewish grandmother (funny, just as animated Negroes with enormous lips and huge white eyes were considered funny 60 or 70 years ago), the animations are designed to promote distrust of Christians. This, in conjunction with NJDC’s “Jews have a visceral distrust of Evangelical Christians” publications, suggest that NJDC is in fact a loathsome hate organization that has no place in rational political discourse.
The National Jewish Democratic Council first came to our attention when it knowingly and willfully lied to American Jews by trying to whitewash MoveOn’s welcoming of anti-Semitic, anti-Catholic, and anti-Evangelical hate speech at its now-disgraced Action Forum.
On October 27 NJDC leader Ira Forman wrote, NJDC Reacts to the Swift Boating of MoveOn By the RJC. Forman wrote the following while accusing the Republican Jewish Coalition and, by implication ourselves (since we supplied the RJC with information about MoveOn.org) of lying.
Jewish voters should take comfort in knowing that MoveOn.org is not a haven for anti-Semitism and the organization will renounce and remove any postings of the sort. Leave it to Republicans to not allow the truth to get in the way of campaigning.
Sincerely,
Ira Forman
Executive Director
National Jewish Democratic Council
NJDC was provided with information that proved that MoveOn.org was in fact a haven for anti-Semitism and, contrary again to its promises, removed only a few token postings of hate speech.
Gentlemen,
It seems that your friends at MoveOn.org took down the Action Forum but left up the FAQ (don’t worry, I copied the whole page for when they realize their mistake and try to hide the evidence next week) and the FAQ proves that they saw every single piece of hate speech– not once but twice. This proof is already spreading all over the Internet, and has been turned over to the opponents of every single candidate who has taken MoveOn.org’s endorsement, along with the Republican Jewish Coalition.
http://www.actionforum.com/general/faq.html#1
“How can I make sure someone at MoveOn reads my post ? All comments are read at least twice. While there is no single criteria, comments that suggest a possible MoveOn action and are not duplicative are likely to be immediately passed on, or included in a summary to the whole MoveOn team. Ratings, while important, are not definitive and some comments with few or low ratings are included in the summaries. Important issues are sometimes followed up with a survey to a sampling of the membership.”“Just what does your moderator do? Our moderators are better described as monitors. They spend the vast majority of their time looking for comments to pass on to the MoveOn team and doing weekly forum summaries. With regard to moderating, their goal is to help create a space to facilitate input. It is not their goal to remove every comment that might be inappropriate. The first line of moderators are our members, who rate inappropriate comments low.”
I am confident that JFJ will be withdrawing its pro-MoveOn petition at the start of next week while NJDC distances itself from MoveOn.org as if MoveOn had leprosy, the Black Plague, and Ebola rolled into one. I am sure your organizations will not use their status as Jewish-run groups to run interference for and whitewash an organization that has knowingly and willfully welcomed anti-Semitic and other forms of hate speech on its forum, where its moderators read every single item not once but twice.
To which Jan Poller (who also contacted NJDC politely and factually) and ourselves received replies of this nature:
You guys have been asked politiely before, and will be once again — please cease spamming us.
In simple English, “We know we are lying on behalf of MoveOn.org, we intend to continue lying, and we do not want to receive information from you that could be used to prove that we are knowingly and willfully lying to Jewish voters across the country.”
The National Jewish Democratic Council’s defense of a hate group becomes more understandable when we realize that NJDC is, like MoveOn.org itself, a tentacle of international financier, Israel-hater, and America-hater George Soros.
As of 2004, an alphabetical list of Shadow Party groups included the following: Air America Radio;… Million Mom March [2nd incarnation, we destroyed the first in 2000-2001]; Moving America Forward; MoveOn.org; …National Education Association; National Grassroots Alliance; National Jewish Democratic Council; …
The National Jewish Democratic Council, like the Nazi-appointed Judenrats of World War II, does not hesitate to publish “Jew as Christian-hater” propaganda similar to that issued by genuine Nazis, because it has all the ethics, honor, and self-respect of a common street prostitute.
As for the purportedly common ground between Jews and Christians on American domestic issues, it is narrow indeed. Research by a variety of scholars and pollsters - Ken Wald of the University of Florida, Eric Uslaner and Mark Lichbach of the University of Maryland, the survey released just last week … shows a chasm between American Jews and evangelical Christians on issues ranging from the Iraq war to legal abortion to gay rights.
More than identifying the schism on any specific topic, the research describes a visceral distrust, bordering on antipathy, for Evangelical Christians on the part of American Jews. For myself, I find this attitude to be exaggerated, or at least more suited to the past than the present, and yet it is an undeniable political reality. It is the kind of passionate reflex that a political consultant of my acquaintance, who happens to be a Republican, refers to as an “emotional trigger.” And in any campaign, he says, you need to find your side’s emotional trigger to get people out the door to vote.As Profs. Uslaner and Lichbach show in their paper, “The Two-Front War: Jews, Identity, Liberalism and Voting,” even the majority of those Jews who are conservative on issues display a generalized disdain for the Christian Right. Only 25 percent of Orthodox Jews in their survey express a favorable view of evangelicals.
The material quoted by the National “Jewish” Democratic Council is, in fact, similar to Nazi propaganda whose purpose was to incite hatred of Jews. From “Propaganda and Children during the Hitler Years” by Mary Mills at Nizkor’s Web site,
Drawing on several centuries of anti-semitism, Bauer intensifies her anti-semitic assault by making the virtuous German the object of the Jewish hate. …An example of this concept of the Jew as a Christian-hater occurs in Uncovered Jewry, Or A Thorough And Truthful Report About The Horrible Ways The Hidden Jews Desecrate The Holy Trinity.
The National Jewish Democratic Council’s (again, about as “Jewish” as the Ku Klux Klan is Christian despite the latter’s habit of using the Cross as a hate symbol) promotion of anti-Christian hatred, along with ridicule of Jews it happens to dislike, is no accident, as amply shown by the “Bubbie” ads it released to support John Kerry’s candidacy in 2004. The following images speak for themselves.
Here is Bubbie, the Jewish grandmother. Do Jewish grandmothers always stick their lips out like this when talking about Republicans?

Now NJDC’s imaginative cartoonists make President Bush’s Jewish cabinet members dance the hora for Bubbie. While the red robes are worn by the entire Bush cabinet and cannot be described as ethnically or racially insulting, NJDC is using the “dance the hora for Bubbie” scene to use the Jewish identities of these cabinet members to degrade them. In other words, the scene could easily be described as anti-Semitic.

NJDC goes on to promote a “visceral distrust for evangelical Christians” with the following scenes:

with a snide remark about Evangelicals’ efforts to convert Jews thrown in:

Any “visceral distrust, bordering on antipathy, for Evangelical Christians on the part of American Jews” is coming solely from the National “Jewish” Democratic Committee, much as any “visceral distrust, bordering on antipathy, for African-Americans on the part of white people” is mainly the product of the Ku Klux Klan. With (dis)respect to NJDC’s attempts to tell us who our enemies are, our response is that we don’t have any–except NJDC itself. Decent Jews must denounce and repudiate the NJDC just as all decent white people must denounce and repudiate the Ku Klux Klan.
