What we think of Cindy Sheehan doesn’t matter. What matters is what MoveOn.org’s people think about her, and she has openly accused MoveOn.org of fabricating a poll and misrepresenting its members’ feelings about the Iraq war. Noting how MoveOn.org lied to the press and its own rank and file about not knowing about the anti-Semitic and Catholic-bashing hate speech on its Action Forum, we believe that Sheehan is telling the truth about this matter no matter how much we dislike the rest of her agenda.

The Democratic Congress Has Betrayed American Voters, Progressive Supporters, And The Troops In Iraq
One group closely allied to the Democratic leadership, MoveOn, has used antiwar sentiment to triple both its membership and fundraising, but has been AWOL from antiwar activity; its members are prohibited from demonstrations, and only vigils for the war dead are posted as events on their website. A month ago I wrote that MoveOn began efforts to support “slow bleed” while antiwar forces actively opposed it. Recently MoveOn fabricated a biased push-poll in which “85%” of respondents supported “slow bleed”; however, the 96% of the MoveOn members who favor withdrawal, and who were not offered a vote on that option, refused to participate in a sham. Congressional sources report that the spurious MoveOn poll, together with intensive bullying and bribing, was used to erode the principled opposition of congressional progressives.
MoveOn is an autocratic organization run by a small group of elitist wannabe power-brokers; it cannot be reformed, but you can let their politburo know your feelings eli “at” moveon.org, Namrita.Chaudhary”at” gmail.com , tom “at”moveon.org, and you can unsubscribe!
eli = Eli Pariser. There we have it; Cindy Sheehan just called Pariser a member of a “politburo” and an “elitist wannabe power-broker” who runs an organization that “cannot be reformed.”
Last year, we vowed to make an end of MoveOn.org the way we put down the Million Mom March in 2000. We now believe that MoveOn.org won’t last as a viable organization through the summer of 2007. Patriotic Americans must aid its disintegration by circulating Sheehan’s accusation, along with George Soros’ ownership of Halliburton (which MoveOn’s people despise), to MoveOn’s rank and file. Loss of organizational commitment will destroy any organization, whether business, political, or military, with almost total certainty. We must exploit these golden opportunities that have just come our way.
