Not only is Iran holding British sailors hostage, it is trying to bully the British nation into making concessions. Typical terrorist victim syndrome: We hurt you but it is your fault that we hurt you:
Iran may delay the release of the female British sailor if Britain takes the issue to the U.N. Security Council or freezes relations, the country’s top negotiator Ali Larijani said Thursday. …
If Britain follows through with its policies on the 15 British sailors and marines detained by Iran last week, Larijani said “this case may face a legal path” — a clear reference to Iran’s prosecuting the sailors in court.
Prosecution for what? For UK soldiers legally patrolling Iraq’s sovereign territorial waters?
…the British Ministry of Defense released satellite data that it says proves the British sailors were operating in Iraqi territorial waters when they were captured - not, as Tehran claims, in Iranian waters.
Iran’s actions may be a “calculated move,” but a dangerous game of chess it is.

Big miscalculation from Iran. British will go through the diplomatic efforts for a week or two and then they’ll reduce Tehran to rubble.

I wish the Brits would be so tough, but I’m not sure the will is there…
