Joe Biden said of Barack Obama: <a href="http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/archives/2007/01/biden_obama_clean_articulate_bright_african-american/" rel="nofollow">"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy."</a> These Democrats obviously have nothing but condescension for African-Americans -- a snooty, paternalistic one. When Howard Dean was asked, “You think the Republican National Committee could get this many people of color in a single room?” he replied, “Only if they had the hotel staff in here,” referring to African-Americans. Racists, bigots, and demagogues appeal to the absolute dregs of their respective societies. If Klansman David Duke can deliver the votes of the lowest classes of Caucasian society, whose votes did John Kerry and Ned Lamont expect Al Sharpton to deliver when they welcomed his support in 2004 and 2006 respectively? I think this shows that they have very low expectations of Black people. In fact, it could be argued that they are racist (against Black people) for assuming that Sharpton can deliver the votes of any respectable Black person. Someone who respected African-Americans would try to get the backing of respectable and successful people like Roy Innis, Thomas Sowell, Colin Powell, Condoleeza Rice, and so on. Oh wait--according to MoveOn.org's people, Rice and Powell are "house slaves" (and Donna Brazile also used this term to refer to Powell). For some reason, Al "white interlopers" Sharpton and Jesse "Hymietown" Jackson did not have a problem with this. Here’s something for the Democrats to think about.
