Barack Obama’s and Hillary Clinton’s recent attendance of Al Sharpton’s National Action Network raises some disturbing questions, especially given allegations about Clinton’s past record of making anti-Semitic statements. Jews Divided on Hillary Slur reports an allegation that, in 1974, she called Bill Clinton’s campaign manager Paul Fray, whom she apparently blamed for losing a congressional race for her husband, a “f**king Jew bastard.” Meanwhile, stories about Obama’s attendance at a madrasa, and his connection with a Black separatist minister, take on added seriousness in light of his recent visit to Al Sharpton’s racist and anti-Semitic hate group.

Under standards set, not by Republican critics with an axe to grind but by the National Jewish Democratic Council itself, Clinton, Obama, and also Bill Richardson, Joe Biden, Chris Dodd, and John Edwards, have disqualified themselves as candidates and should drop out of the race.

Here is what the National Jewish Democratic Council said about Mitt Romney’s decision to make a speech at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, where we had our own picture taken in a Model T to go with a book we published:

Location of Presidential Announcement Suggests Romney Needs American and Jewish Histories 101

Washington, DC - The National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) expressed its deep concerns today about Republican Mitt Romney’s decision to announce his candidacy for President from the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit, Michigan. Located on grounds formerly owned by Ford, the museum is a testament to the life of Henry Ford, a notorious anti-Semite and xenophobe whose belief that Jews were second-class, inferior citizens were expressed in detail in his writings on his theory of Americanization. Ford was also bestowed with the Grand Service Cross of the Supreme Order of the German Eagle by Adolf Hitler.

“NJDC is deeply troubled by Governor Romney’s choice of locations to announce his Presidential campaign. Romney has been traveling the country talking about inclusiveness and understanding of people from all walks of life. Yet he chooses to kick off his presidential campaign on the former estate of a well-known and outspoken anti-Semite and xenophobe. Mitt Romney’s embrace of Henry Ford and association of Ford’s legacy with his presidential campaign raises serious questions about either the sincerity of Romney’s words or his understanding of basic American history,” said NJDC Executive Director Ira Forman.

While we obviously did not care for two or three pages in Ford’s My Life and Work that talked about Jews, we also note that Ford later repudiated, retracted, and apologized for his promotion of The International Jew. Furthermore, contrary to NJDC’s implication that Ford received the Order of the German Eagle for promoting anti-Semitism, it was actually given in recognition of the industrial achievements that made the United States the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth. Finally, Ford had been dead for close to sixty years when Romney appeared at the Ford Museum.

Since the National Jewish Democratic Council has effectively said that Mitt Romney disqualified himself by speaking at the museum of a long dead EX-antisemite, we are confident that it will soon issue a statement asking for Democratic candidates to step forward as alternatives to the six who are currently running. All six appeared at the conference of a living and active racist and anti-Semitic hate organization, the very same organization that chanted phrases like “bloodsucking Jews,” “Jew bastards,” “white interloper,” and “cracker lover” before one of its members torched a Jewish-owned store and killed seven people.

Here are pictures of Barack Obama arm in arm with the same living and unrepentent racist and anti-Semite who personally called the owner of Freddy’s Fashion Mart a “white interloper” while referring to the Jews of Crown Heights as “diamond merchants.” Sharpton’s mob, meanwhile, yelled “Kill the Jews!” as one of its members knifed Yankel Rosenbaum to death. This suggests that Obama does not like Jews, and it is quite likely (given his alleged connections with a Black separatist minister) that he does not like white Gentiles either.

To put matters another way, how would most African-Americans feel if a white candidate appeared in the following context with the Ku Klux Klan’s David Duke or the White Aryan Resistance’s Tom Metzger? They would probably conclude that said candidate was a white supremacist and a racist, and they would almost certainly be right.

No one is interested in Clinton’s, Obama’s, or the other candidates’ excuse that “we need the Black vote.” Racist and anti-Semitic demagogues appeal universally to the absolute dregs of the societies they claim to represent. Duke and Metzger appeal to the lowest class of Caucasian Gentile. Al Sharpton similarly appeals to Black people who, if they woke up one day to find that they had become white people, would be cutting holes in their pillowcases and trying on sheets by noon. By nightfall, they would be burning crosses, lynching Negroes, and firebombing Black churches the way Sharpton’s people burned Freddy’s Fashion Mart. If that is the kind of “Black vote” that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama want, then no decent American of any race or ethnicity should want any part of them.

Meanwhile, given the National Jewish Democratic Council’s on-the-record statement about Mitt Romney making a speech at the Henry Ford Museum, it will be impossible for NJDC to give any of these six Democrats credible support next year. If NJDC tries to do so, its statement about Romney will be placed side by side with Sharpton’s track record to discredit it at every turn. In fact, the standard it has set for Romney is already being used against Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Biden, Dodd, and Richardson. This shows that there is indeed some wisdom in the Christian statement, “Judge not, lest ye be judged.” We also recall the scene from King Henry V in which three traitors, who do not know that the king has discovered their treachery, urge the king to give the harshest punishment to a man who insulted the king while drunk (much as Mel Gibson spewed anti-Semitic remarks while drunk). Upon being denounced as traitors, they ask for mercy only to have King Henry reject them with these words:

The mercy that was quick in us but late,
By your own counsel is suppress’d and kill’d:
You must not dare, for shame, to talk of mercy;
For your own reasons turn into your bosoms,
As dogs upon their masters, worrying you.

NJDC should be aware that Henry V is among our favorite role models, and its “reasons” why Mitt Romney disqualified himself by appearing at the Ford museum have similarly turned on NJDC. This will be a disaster given the Democratic Party’s purported reliance on the Jewish vote. If the Democrats insist on running Clinton, Obama, Edwards, or any of the others, the Republican Party will have to order several packages of elephant trunks for former Jewish Democrats. Additional elephant trunks will be needed for decent African-Americans who are outraged by the suggestion that the Black clone of Tom Metzger can “deliver their votes.
