Why did Haifa’s International Film Festival wish to honor filmmaker Mira Nair for her film “The Reluctant Fundamentalist”? The film is just another exceptionally well done piece of anti-American propaganda which justifies Islamic/Islamist terrorism by showing us that America harasses Muslims constantly, even Muslims as brilliant and assimilated as Nair’s “fundamentalist” hero, Changez. According to Nair, America is to blame for Pakistani fundamentalist terrorism.

In the aftermath of the coup d’état in Egypt, a consensus has emerged, to cite an anonymous Obama administration official, that “Trying to break the neck of the [Muslim] Brotherhood is not going to be good for Egypt or for the region.”

Before Egypt’s President Muhammad Morsi was ousted, April was one of the worst months for Christian Copts there. On April 5 near Cairo, when a longstanding feud between a Christian family and a Muslim family—based on male Muslims sexually harassing Christian girls—culminated in the violent deaths of six Christians, including two of the participants, a Christian and a Muslim, being set on fire, local Muslims went on another “collective punishment” spree. It resulted in the injury of at least 20 other Copts, an Evangelical church being set on fire, and an attack on a Coptic church, Two days later, after Copts had mourned their dead in the St. Mark Cathedral—Coptic Christianity’s holiest site and home to the Coptic pope—Muslim mobs, who had waited outside, launched yet another attack—aided by state security forces. Eyewitnesses said as many as 40-50 tear gas canisters targeted the mourners, many of whom were women and children hiding in the cathedral. Two more Copts were killed and many dozens wounded as other officers stood by while the Muslim mob tried to destroy the cathedral.
“Thirteen people were killed, including a pregnant soldier, and 32 others shot in the Nov. 5, 2009 rampage by the accused shooter, Major Nidal Hasan, at the [Fort Hood] Army base in Killeen, Texas,” the killer “says the U.S. government is at war with Islam,” but the Obama administration insists that Hasan’s act of self-proclaimed Islamic-inspired terrorism was an instance of “workplace violence.”
Just before Hasan committed his savage attack at Fort Hood he exclaimed, “Allahu akbar” (“God is great”), which is the battle-cry of most Muslim terrorists. “Hasan had been in contact with Anwar al-Awlaki, a jihadist deemed so dangerous that Obama had him killed in a drone attack.”
Today, we found out more about Hasan’s “beliefs:”
… Maj. Nidal Hasan released a lengthy statement to Fox News (http://fxn.ws/1cafkA2) on Saturday in which he says he regrets serving in the Army and “participating in the illegal and immoral aggression against Muslims, their religion and their lands.” …
This is textbook terror-speak, yet the Obama administration is hell-bent on whitewashing Islamic terrorism. Whether Obama believes he can appease Islamic terrorists or whether he somehow identifies with their “cause” (as he has seemed to do in, for example, Egypt), he is not accomplishing anything except for emboldening Muslim terrorists. They despise fear. Obama started his presidency by “reaching out” to the Muslim World, but we knew he didn’t reach anyone:
Two years after US President Barack Obama called in a groundbreaking speech from Cairo for a “new beginning” in relations with the Muslim world, his popularity among Arabs has nosedived, a poll released Wednesday shows. …
The Arab world’s image of the US as a whole has also soured to become even less favorable than during the last year of the administration of president George W. Bush, under whom the United States led an international coalition that invaded Iraq, the survey found. …
Mr. Obama, please stop BS-ing your own people.

As recently as 2012, it appeared that Islamists could overcome their many internal dissimilarities – sectarian (Sunni, Shi’ite), political (monarchical, republican), tactical (political, violent), or attitudes toward modernity (Salafi, Muslim Brotherhood) – and cooperate. In Tunisia, for example, Salafis and the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) types found common ground. Differences between all these groups were real but secondary, as I put it then, because “all Islamists pull in the same direction, toward the full and severe application of Islamic law (the Shari’a).”
Imagine if an American reporter spouted, “Blacks should get the hell out of America and go back to Africa!” His/her career would be over instantly and the person would certainly not be glorified and mourned when dying. Well, our perverse, upside down, and politically correct society’s media has honored such a type of person.
It was horrible to watch, listen to, and read all the glowing epitaphs showered on former reporter Helen Thomas. She was painted as some kind of heroic reporter, willing to “stand up to presidents” (as she was usually accorded the honor of sitting in the front row of reporters at presidential news conferences).
She was nothing more than a disgusting ignorant racist bigot who should’ve been kicked out of the business of journalism years ago. This is Helen Thomas in her own words, advocating ethnic cleansing:
Helen Thomas Apologizes for Saying Jews Should ‘Get the Hell Out of Palestine’
… “Tell them to get the hell out of Palestine.”
Thomas went on to say that the Palestinian people “are occupied and it’s their land” and that Israelis should “go home” — to Poland, Germany, America “and everywhere else.” …
She offered the apology only to try to save her sagging career (along with her sagging facial structure). Her original ugly statement was also a clear indictment of her own ignorance.
The word “Palestine” was invented by the angry Roman emperor Hadrian. He wanted to insult Jews by renaming their Jewish homeland called “Judea” into a perversion of the word “Philistine,” which refers to a Greek people. The Philistines were old enemies of the Jews. There is no “Palestine” nor is there a historical basis for calling a bunch of Arab immigrants into the Holy Land “Palestinians.”
Jews have at least 4000 years of proven continuous history and presence in Israel, while Arabs and their political ideology called “Islam” only showed up in the Holy Land in the 7th century A.D.
We do not celebrate anyone’s death. That type of behavior is for the likes of Helen Thomas. But we do not bury the truth nor do we whitewash racists.

A few days after a jury acquitted George Zimmerman in the death of Trayvon Martin, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder was busy exploiting the trial outcome by attacking “stand‑your‑ground” self-defense laws.
As reported by Fox News, during a speech at the NAACP’s annual convention, Holder said, “Separate and apart from the case that has drawn the nation’s attention, it’s time to question laws that senselessly expand the concept of self-defense and sow dangerous conflict in our neighborhoods.”
In response to Holder’s remarks, NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris W. Cox had this to say: “The attorney general fails to understand that self-defense is not a concept, it’s a fundamental human right. To send a message that legitimate self-defense is to blame is unconscionable, and demonstrates once again that this administration will exploit tragedies to push their political agenda.”
Holder and the Obama administration will surely continue to push to overturn “stand your ground” self-defense laws in the future. Rest assured NRA-ILA will be there to fight them. We will continue to work to protect self-defense laws currently on the books and advocate for their passage in those states that do not fully respect this fundamental right.

Why do millions of Egyptians, including politicians and activists, consider Anne Patterson, the U.S. ambassador to Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood’s “stooge”—as she is so commonly referred to by many in Egypt, from the media down to the street?
In America, some are aware of matters, such as that “Patterson in particular resisted opportunities to criticize the Morsi government as it implemented increasingly authoritarian policies. In a memorable May interview with the Egyptian English-language news sit[e] Ahram Online, she repeatedly dodged pointed questions about Morsi’s leadership. ‘The fact is they ran in a legitimate election and won,’ she said…. Republicans from Texas Senator Ted Cruz to House Foreign Affairs Chairman Ed Royce have pounced on statements like these, increasingly seeing Patterson as the key implementer for a policy that at least offers tacit support to the Muslim Brotherhood.”

I read an article by Barry Rubin regarding American politics vis-a-vis “The Arab Spring” entitled, “At last, The Secret of President Barack Obama’s Middle East Policy Revealed, No Kidding.” It is profoundly disturbing because it points out (in the diplomatic-speak of US officials) that the foreign policy of the US is now built on appeasement and a quid pro quo arrangement that trades moral and material support to the Muslim Brotherhood and, ultimately, Al Qaeda, Iran and all other terror entities, for protection against violent jihad by terrorists.
The US mainland will be safe (the new unwritten doctrine suggests) provided bribes are paid to Islamists and leftists in whatever form the Islamists and leftists demand (and the demands grow and change to suit their evolving politics). Forced respect for “the religion of peace” (a popular misnomer for Islam) and subversion of free speech and truth are high demands now being quietly exacted by an Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC)-controlled UN with their European sycophants looking for Obama backing. The US and Europe are willing to trade Israel’s security to make Europe and the Obama administration feel righteous.
The National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) is proud to report that a federal judge in Denver ruled on Thursday that it was unlawful for the U.S. Postal Service to ban firearms in their parking lot.
“The federal judge made the right decision in recognizing Americans’ Second Amendment rights,” said Dudley Brown, Executive Vice President of the National Association for Gun Rights. “It’s a shame we have to go to court to protect our right to bear arms, but we will fight every time the government attempts to infringe on the rights of law-abiding gun owners.”
Sorry for the lack of new material, but we’ve had people on vacation and one family tragedy, and haven’t been able to get new articles posted for the last week or so. We’ve regrouped and will start posting tomorrow. Expect the usual high-quality articles from netwmd.com.

Yesterday, The Wall Street Journal had a front page story: As U.S. Pulls Out, Feuds Split Afghanistan’s Ruling Family. This title is both comic and tragic but it is not “news”.
“A Ruling Family feud” is Afghan history and, perhaps, psychology. Afghan Emirs and Shahs seized thrones mainly from their brothers, half-brothers, uncles and nephews. Rulers were routinely tortured and murdered by their relatives; some were allowed to live, but with their eyes gouged out.

The chaotic Arab Street is raging violently, uncontrollably, unpredictably and incessantly, from northwestern Africa through Egypt, Syria and Jordan to Iraq and the Persian Gulf. Arab countries are imploding; Iran is galloping towards nuclear capability that haunts Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States; Islamic terrorism is threatening the US mainland via the proliferation of sleeper cells; pro-US Arab oil-producing regimes are increasingly vulnerable to subversion; the Arab Middle East is growing Islamist and anti-US, jeopardizing vital US economic and national security interests; Turkey has changed colors from a pro to anti-US pillar; and Russia and China deepen their involvement in the region.
This article contains all the tools you need to protect the right to bear arms. Even though gun ownership is protected by the Second Amendment of our great Constitution, gun owners are continually besieged by those looking to dis-empower good American citizens. As gun owners, we must be ever vigilant, constantly reminding our elected representatives that our Constitution guarantees our right to bear arms — and guarantees our right to choose the firearms and accessories we deem necessary to defend ourselves, defend our democratic way of life, and defend our right to use firearms for sport, collecting, and hobby. The only way for us to protect the Second Amendment is to be engaged in our nation’s democratic process. We must be well-educated in the legal history of American gun ownership — like the unabashed support our Founding Fathers held for gun rights. We must stay up-to-date on current proposed legislation affecting gun ownership. We must contact our elected representatives regarding specific legislation. We must also occasionally remind our representatives of their sworn duty to uphold the Constitution. Finally, we must support and vote for candidates or existing representatives who have a proven track-record of upholding Second Amendment rights. Use the links below to get and stay active in protecting the right to bear arms — you’d be surprised how effective you can be by becoming a grassroots activist:

The overthrow of Mohamed Morsi in Egypt delights and worries me.
Delight is easy to explain. What appears to have been the largest political demonstration in history uprooted the arrogant Islamists of Egypt who ruled with near-total disregard for anything other than consolidating their own power. Islamism, the drive to apply a medieval Islamic law and the only vibrant radical utopian movement in the world today, experienced an unprecedented repudiation. Egyptians showed an inspiring spirit.
