Why Are America and The West Funding Sharia Law?

Thursday, November 28th, 2013

by Phyllis Chesler

How long is the West going to be bound to doing the impossible?

President Hamid Karzai’s government is considering bringing back stoning for adultery—and imposing 100 lashes (which is a death sentence) for unmarried people who have had sexual relations.

Thus, Afghan men can marry female children, keep male children as sex-toys, maintain four wives, and visit prostitutes from dawn to dawn.

But it is a capital crime if an Afghan man dishonors another Afghan man by having relations with his female “property;” and, if he has raped the poor wife, she is also to be stoned. Worse yet, if two young Afghans meet and fall in love on their own and have sexual relations, but do not marry—they, too, will be committing a capital crime.

Local police departments getting military-grade equipment

Wednesday, November 27th, 2013

There is a disturbing trend in what I had assumed to be the “home of the brave; land of the free:” The federal government is distributing military-grade equipment to state and local law enforcement across the country. It seems that many in government and law enforcement have started to see their own countrymen as a threat. President Obama hasn’t helped the situation by pushing gun control, using the NSA to spy on his own citizens, using the IRS to persecute his political opponents, supporting terrorist groups in the Middle East, having an attorney general who “use[d] Trayvon Martin to attack the 2nd Amendment,” … Should I go on? From Fox News:

From war zones to city streets, some military vehicles are getting a new life — and not everyone is happy about the recycling.

The Defense Department recently announced it would be giving domestic law enforcement forces hulking vehicles designed to efficiently maneuver in a war zone for use in thwarting any potential high-scale activity. …

‘Largest Massacre of Christians in Syria’ Ignored

Monday, November 25th, 2013

by Raymond Ibrahim*

One of the worst Christian massacres—complete with mass graves, tortured-to-death women and children, and destroyed churches—recently took place in Syria, at the hands of the U.S.-supported jihadi “rebels”; and the U.S. government and its “mainstream media” mouthpiece are, as usual, silent (that is, when not actively trying to minimize matters).

The massacre took place in Sadad, an ancient Syriac Orthodox Christian habitation, so old as to be mentioned in the Old Testament. Most of the region’s inhabitants are poor, as Sadad is situated in the remote desert between Homs and Damascus (desert regions, till now, apparently the only places Syria’s Christians could feel secure; 600 Christian families had earlier fled there for sanctuary from the jihad, only to be followed by it).

The aftermath of the Iran-Obama agreement

Sunday, November 24th, 2013

By Gary Gerofsky

One government wanted an agreement with Iran more than Iran itself: The Obama Administration. Iran wanted an agreement on its nuclear program to alleviate sanctions and to open up the floodgates to international business. According to USA TODAY:

… Six world powers reached an interim agreement late Saturday night with Iran on its disputed nuclear program after four days of talks in Geneva.

In the six-month interim deal, Iran agreed to limit nuclear activities in return for relief of up to $7 billion in sanctions that have hurt its economy. …

Money will inevitably flow freely after Iran is welcomed back into the international fold with its nukes intact, with its “death to Israel” foreign policy still in place and with Obama and the international community taking the first step towards welcoming Iran into the nuclear weapons’ club. Obama needed the Iranian deal to cover up its recent domestic and foreign policy failures. By the time Iran and the mullahs start lying about the details, as Obama lied, spun and avoided in the immediate aftermath, it will be too late — a world anxious to not be involved in another conflict in the Middle East will not care if they were delivered lies or truth. Notice how the leader of the Islamic republic, Ayatollah Khamenei, did not lower himself by attending the meetings of the “Sextet.” Khamenei’s emissaries had to fly back and forth to update and to get orders from his “highness.” This in itself is an arrogant statement that Khamenei is superior to those scrounging for acceptance by Iran for their “peace” overtures. It is an acknowledgement by the world that they accept Khamenei’s superiority.

The JFK Assassination’s Continued Importance

Friday, November 22nd, 2013

by Daniel Pipes*

In three main ways, the JFK murder still has repercussions for Americans and the world. It also has a unique place in my life.

First, had the assassination attempt not succeeded, arguably neither the Vietnam War nor the Great Society expansion of government would have afflicted the United States as they did. The Virtual JFK: Vietnam If Kennedy Had Lived project concludes that “JFK would have continued to resist a US war in Vietnam. Even though the Saigon government, weak and corrupt, was destined for the dustbin of history, he would have resisted those calling on him to send US combat troops to Vietnam. He might have ended all military involvement.”

ObamaCare: 50,000 enrolled; 0.5 million promised; premiums up

Tuesday, November 12th, 2013

So would you say that ObamaCare is off to a good start? The administration promised 0.5 million enrollees after the first month; only 50,000 have successfully bought insurance. And there are multiple reports of premiums increasing, not decreasing as promised — more on that below. First, from Fox:premiums

Fewer than 50,000 Americans have thus far bought a health-care plan on the problem-plagued ObamaCare website according to an insurance industry report, representing only a fraction of the half-million enrollees the administration apparently wanted the first month.

The number was reported first Monday by The Wall Street and confirmed by Fox News, which was told the final reporting day was Nov. 3.

The Department of Health and Human Services issued a prompt response, saying officials could not confirm the numbers. …

Look at all these headlines (and follow the links):

These are just a few of the articles on premiums increasing.

Obama’s unpopularity trend: approval 39%; disapproval 53%

Tuesday, November 5th, 2013

Gallup tracks daily the percentage of Americans who approve or disapprove of the job Barack Obama is doing as president. Daily results are based on telephone interviews with approximately 1,500 national adults; Margin of error is ±3 percentage points.

Today’s report from Gallup dated Tuesday, November 05, 2013 shows bad news for President Obama. The Jan 21-23 2009 data points showed his approval at 68% and disapproval at 12%. The Nov 2-4 2013 data points showed his approval at 39% and disapproval at 53%. I hope he keeps up his dismal performance. Look at the interactive chart for yourself.

This man is the worst president in modern American history — yes, even worse than Jimma Carter. He’s spied on his own people through the NSA, allowed Americans to be needlessly killed in Benghazi, used the IRS as a political tool to suppress his opposition, tried to take away the constitutional right to bear arms, tried to push immigration “reform” which is just a ploy to turn 11 – 20 million illegals into Democrats, and now is watching his “signature legislation,” Obamacare, crash and burn. Should I continue with a laundry list of his egregious misdeeds?

It’s a time for change back to common sense politics. Americans must get engaged in the democratic process for all their local, state, and national 2014 and 2016 elections.

Infosys Fine Highlights Needed Immigration Reforms

Monday, November 4th, 2013

By John Miano, CIS.org

Infosys has agreed to pay a record $34 million dollar fine for visa abuse. Infosys was circumventing the H-1B quota by bringing foreign workers in under B visitor visas instead. Such foreign workers have to return home every few months to renew their visas.

This is a very common practice throughout the industry — and it is not just the Indian companies that are doing it. When I worked for the now-defunct American company Digital Equipment, they were doing the exact same thing.

Here are some points that this raises:

Obama does not understand who Putin is

Sunday, November 3rd, 2013

Interview with Daniel Pipes by Olga Doleśniak-Harczuk*

1.Will Bashar al-Asad comply with the demands of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons or not? And what will or could the Obama administration do when Asad will not comply?

Although initial reports indicated that Bashshar al-Assad is complying with OPCW demands, I would be surprised if he continues with this because the chemical weapons are crucial to his maintaining power. I expect the Obama administration to attack Syrian government installations without expecting or even wanting this to make much difference in the course of the civil war.

2.Does the U.S. – Russian agreement solve the crisis in Syria or not?

Not at all; it only deals with chemical weapons, not the much larger question of the civil war. Put in numbers: the chemical weapons accounts for just 1 percent of the civil war fatalities until now.

Six enrollments by second day after Obamacare rolled out

Saturday, November 2nd, 2013

A CBS Evening News headline story on October 31 read:

Obamacare enrollments got off to very slow start, documents show

My, what a glaring… er, ah… debacle. The LA Times, another cog in the mainstream media’s (MSM’s) machine, along with CBS, read:

… Thousands of Californians are discovering what Obamacare will cost them — and many don’t like what they see.

These middle-class consumers are staring at hefty increases on their insurance bills as the overhaul remakes the healthcare market. Their rates are rising in large part to help offset the higher costs of covering sicker, poorer people who have been shut out of the system for years.

Although recent criticism of the healthcare law has focused on website glitches and early enrollment snags, experts say sharp price increases for individual policies have the greatest potential to erode public support for President Obama‘s signature legislation. …

SEND FREE FAX TO YOUR HOUSE REP URGING HIM/HER TO COSPONSOR ‘NO AMNESTY’ RESOLUTION

Friday, November 1st, 2013

We can do it. We can stop giving a free ride (immigration amnesty) to the 11 – 20 million illegals in this country. It’s up to the House and the House is controlled by Republicans — and there’s only 16 more days left in this year’s session. Thanks to NumbersUSA, you can immediately send a free fax to your House rep by filling in a few text boxes and pressing a button. The form will automatically find and route your fax to your House rep based on your zip code. Please use and distribute this link:

https://www.numbersusa.com/sendfax?id=15504

The default fax is shown below, but you can choose from a bunch of different letter templates:

… Please cosponsor H. Res. 326, a resolution calling on Congress to reject any immigration reform that provides legal status or amnesty to illegal aliens.

With 20 million Americans unable to find a full-time job, it’s important that illegal aliens not be given work permits, legal status, or amnesty as part of any immigration reform legislation. I hope you will cosponsor H.Res. 326 and make it clear that amnesty is not the sort of immigration reform America needs. …

Murdered Christian Children: The Price of Obama’s Pro-Brotherhood Jihad

Friday, November 1st, 2013

by Raymond Ibrahim*

Who is more deserving of punishment by the United States? Millions of Egyptians, for ousting the Muslim Brotherhood? Or the Muslim Brotherhood, for habitually terrorizing and murdering Christians, among many other crimes?

According to the unmistakably clear actions of the Obama administration, it is the millions of anti-Brotherhood Egyptians who deserve punishment.

Last Sunday, the Church of the Virgin Mary in Waraq near Cairo was attacked during a wedding ceremony, leaving four dead and many wounded. According to Dr. Hisham Abdul Hamid of forensics, two of those who were murdered were Christian children—two girls; two Marys: 12-year-old Mary Nabil Fahmy, who took five shots in the chest, and 8-year-old Mary Ashraf Masih (meaning “Christ”), who took a bullet in the back which burst from the front.
