Iran’s Nuclear Buildup and American Irrelevance

The Menendez-Kirk “Nuclear Weapon Free Iran Act of 2013” (S. 1881) threatens the Iranian regime with additional sanctions and appears to be the only way to counter the Obama administration’s flaccidity vis-à-vis Tehran.

I am skeptical, however, that it can do much good.

Lower education?

A top-notch higher education system that promotes critical thinking is a must for an advanced economy and society. It is a prerequisite for advanced scientific research and technological expertise, both of which are crucial for economic growth. But what is a good university? What kind of education should it offer and at what cost?

“Will Dropouts Save America?,” asked Michael Ellsberg in a 2011 piece published by The New York Times, a paper that reveres universities and is considered the flagship publication of the American liberal Left.

All ‘gun control’ legislation defeated in the 2014 New Mexico Legislative Session

New Mexico’s 2014 state legislative session ended yesterday and all “gun control” measures introduced during session died thanks to grassroots opposition.

HB 44 – FIREARM TRANSFER ACT, HR 3 – PROHIBIT FIREARMS IN HOUSE, and SR 1 – PROHIBIT FIREARMS IN SENATE all were stopped cold during this session. Thanks to all the good people who voiced their opposition to these measures by visiting their representatives, emailing them (26,913 emails sent just using our page), faxing them, calling them… They lobbied the governor’s office intensively. There’s so many people to thank, like the New Mexico Gun Owners Association (NMGOA), the Del Norte Gun Club, and the New Mexico Conservatives for Freedom, that it would take pages to praise everyone’s efforts. Thanks to Governor Susana Martinez (R) for concentrating on the budget and not calling HB 44. Thanks to representatives like Yvette Herrell (R) who took a firm and vocal stand against the 2014 “gun control” measures.
