Mizzou Professor Click fired: First Amendment win and a call to action

Sunday, February 28th, 2016

The University of Missouri is firing professor Melissa Click. She was caught on video (Figure 1 below) trying to stop a student journalist from exercising his First Amendment right to report on a public event. In the video, Click called for “muscle” — threatening to physically assault the journalist — to stop him from reporting. What was she so afraid of? The truth? Then she was again documented on video cursing at police officers just doing their jobs. This is the sad state of affairs in American “academia.” BUT THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI BOARD VOTED TO FIRE THIS CRAZY BULLY, stating:

… “The circumstances surrounding Dr. Click’s behavior, both at a protest in October when she tried to interfere with police officers who were carrying out their duties, and at a rally in November, when she interfered with members of the media and students who were exercising their rights in a public space and called for intimidation against one of our students, we believe demands serious action.” …

CALL TO ACTION: DO NOT LET CLICK GET AWAY WITH THIS DISTURBING BEHAVIOR: Please email/call/fax the University of Missouri Board of Curators and encourage them to stand firm on their decision to fire “Professor” Click and to reject any attempts she makes to appeal her firing. Contact the board via email at boardofcurators@umsystem.edu, via phone at (573) 882-2388, and via fax at (573) 882-0010.

Sign Petition: Block President Obama’s Nominee for the Supreme Court

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016

ONE-CLICK: ACT NOW TO Block President Obama’s Nominee for the Supreme Court. Fill in your name, email, zip, and let Heritage send this message to your senators. This country is so out of balance, the last thing we need is a Supreme Court hell-bent on “progressive” judicial activism. We need a balance of powers.

The Constitution just says that the President, “by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint … Judges of the supreme Court…” Note that regarding the Constitution, “There’s no timeline nor guideline for how to hold confirmation proceedings. The Constitution doesn’t even say how big the court needs to be…” Now let’s refute all the Democratic Party’s bullying (nonsense) as to why Republicans must obey “King” Obama.

How about “Flashback: Senate Democrats in 1960 pass resolution against election-year Supreme Court recess appointments” … or … “Democrats’ behavior in 1987-88 — when they engaged in shameful character assassination against Robert Bork … one of the most consequential triumphs of Senate obstructionism in our lifetimes”? How about “Joe Biden in 1992: No nominations to the Supreme Court in an election year” … and finally, “FLASHBACK: In 2007, Schumer Called For Blocking All Bush Supreme Court Nominations”?
