Canada bares its… throat?

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

By Andrew L. Jaffee

It seems that some Canadians — at least the ones represented by the Liberal Party — are ready to put 9/11 behind them, that is, pretend terrorism doesn’t exist, as the House of Commons yesterday voted to allow two anti-terror laws to expire. It hasn’t even been a year since the arrests of Canadian Islamists planning to detonate 3 tons of ammonium nitrate in and around Toronto. Ah, but the planned mass murder never came about. Unfortunately, because of human nature — taking the path of least resistance — terrorist intent to slash our supple Western throats is perceived as somehow different than if our throats were actually slashed. Too late! When you notice the threat, all your blood has run out. Never mind the bloodshed happening “over there.” My, how the grass is greener at home.

Canada’s Racist Laws – The Destruction of our English-Speaking British History and our Individual Freedoms

Monday, February 26th, 2007

By Dick Field

Published online January 18, 2007 – Canada Free Press

In a previous article, I briefly mentioned Canada’s racist laws. Some people were confused. This article is much too long but frankly it would require a book to fully detail the harm done to Canada by our misguided governments over the last 45 years.

Therefore, let’s keep this as easy to understand as possible. Until 1963-68, the years the Pearson/Trudeau era began, and particularly after the charismatic Pierre Elliot Trudeau swept the Canadian public off their collective feet and became the Prime Minister of Canada, we operated under an English Common-Law system of criminal and civil law. Under that system we had the right to do anything not specifically forbidden by law.

Inter-climatic Immigration, Global Warming & Greenhouse Gases

By Dick Field

A few commentators have expressed grave concern that the continued importation of millions of immigrants to Canada, the UK, the USA and northern Europe contributes to an ever increasing urban sprawl and the consequent destruction of vital agricultural lands. Even Canada’s huge land mass cannot support the density of human occupation that its size would lead one to believe. Most of Canada’s land mass is virtually uninhabitable. Compatible cultural integration is also becoming a cause of concern.

How Canada can help contain the Iranian threat

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

by David Harris and Sayeh Hassan*

Iran is an increasing danger to global security, and it demands the serious attention of Stephen Harper and his government.

In recent years, Tehran has expanded its sponsorship of terror in the Middle East through it proxies in Lebanon, Syria and the Palestinian Authority; undertaken aggressive foreign operations through Hezbollah, from Europe to South America; grossly violated the rights of its citizens, especially women and students; curtailed press freedoms; and murdered a Canadian, Zahra Kazemi. Earlier this month, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad defiantly boasted that his theocracy now operates 3,000 centrifuges at its Natanz nuclear facility. This could well mean sufficient weapons-grade uranium for an atomic bomb by year-end.

Herouxville, Quebec: No [Sharia] Violence Against Women

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

By Andrew L. Jaffee

“Oh, Canada!” Or should I do my impersonation of René Lévesque singing, “Ô Canada! mon pays, mes amours?” The town of Herouxville, Quebec has taken a stand against the “multi-cultural” crap of giving special dispensations to Islamists. Merci beaucoup! Désirent ardemment Herouxville de phase! You think it would be common sense for any human community to agree that throwing acid on your wife is a bad thing, but not much in Sharia makes sense. The blind fools who push extremist, dogmatic multi-culturalism on us would allow anything, as long as it doesn’t offend anyone. [Freudian interpretation: These fools subconsciously believe that they’ll be spared Islamist throat-slitting by placating Muslims.] Here’s the skinny from Reuters:

Immigrants wishing to live in the small Canadian town of Herouxville, Quebec, must not stone women to death in public, burn them alive or throw acid on them, according to an extraordinary set of rules released by the local council.

The real lesson to be learned from the suffering of Maher Arar

Friday, December 15th, 2006

by Canadian Coalition for Democracies

Ottawa, Tuesday, December 12, 2006 – As Canadians, we are deeply distressed by the suffering of Maher Arar, whose ordeal was, in the judgement of Justice Dennis O’Connor, triggered by sub-standard police and security work on the part of the RCMP. We recognize the difficulty in compensating Maher Arar and his family for the ordeal that followed his deportation to Syria.

[Canadian] PM Harper takes a principled stand

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

by Beryl P. Wajsman, Guest Author, IsraPundit

“Stephen Harper is raising a bright, new dawn for this nation. And it is to be hoped that the brilliant rays of its light will burn off the stagnating smog that has been a protective cloak over the bodyguard of lies under which Canadians have lived far too long. Let us not forget that power is never preceded by conditional adjectives. Power is not a toy for children. It is a force a people take and use as a shield for the innocent and a staff for the just. It is not dependant on numbers. It is dependant only on energy and daring. The message of the past few weeks is clear. We Canadians – who in two World Wars over the past century sacrificed more sons and daughters than even America in proportion to population to assure the survival and success of liberty - are back. And we’ve got clout!”

Until Fatah and Hamas charters end call for Israel’s destruction, Canada must deny funding to Palestinian Authority

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

by Canadian Coalition for Democracies

Toronto, Canada, Tuesday, September 12, 2006 - Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas PM Ismail Haniyeh announced an agreement yesterday to form a Palestinian unity government. The article in Al-Hayat Al-Jadida makes it clear that the reason for this arrangement is the “resumption of [Western] aid”.

“Western aid was stopped with the election of Hamas, because Hamas refused to renounce violence and recognize the state of Israel,” said Alastair Gordon, president of the Canadian Coalition for Democracies. “To this day, the charters of both Fatah (PLO) and Hamas both call for the destruction of Israel through violence.”

When an Islamist Informs on Islamist Terrorists

When not doing their best to impede law enforcement’s ability to stop terrorism carried out in the name of radical Islam (for examples, see here and here), Islamist organizations declare that they are of course ready to do everything within their powers to help catch terrorists, and that good policing depends on good relations with the Muslim community. Fair enough; I wrote about one such case in New York City “Does the Police Department Profile? Should It?” But what happens when an Islamist steps forward to help with counterterrorism efforts?

Did the UN set up Canadian soldiers to be killed for propaganda purposes?

Friday, July 28th, 2006

by Bill Levinson

Who at the United Nations knowingly and willfully intermingled Canadian soldiers with a legitimate military target (Hezbollah terrorists) for the purpose of getting them killed to make Israel look bad? Canada should demand an immediate investigation and no soldier on earth should be required to wear a United Nations uniform.
