Muslim Brotherhood Declares ‘Mastership of World’ as Ultimate Goal

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

by Raymond Ibrahim*

Although many Muslim leaders openly articulate their efforts as part of a larger picture — one that culminates in the resurrection of a caliphate adversarial by nature to all things non-Muslim — many Western leaders see only the moment, either out of context or, worse, in a false context built atop wishful thinking.

Among other things, this myopia causes virtually all Western politicians to overlook long-term threats and focus exclusively on violence and terror, the tangible and temporal — those things that may coincide with their tenure.

The Two Faces of Al Jazeera

Monday, January 9th, 2012

by Oren Kessler*

One of the principal beneficiaries of the Arab uprisings has been Al Jazeera television. Viewers are praising the English and Arabic channels’ comprehensive coverage of the revolts while the Obama administration continues to court the network as part of its signature foreign policy goal of improving ties with the Arab and Muslim worlds.

The shaky alliance between Israel and the United States

Sunday, January 8th, 2012

By Gary Gerofsky

As Canada (my country) knows all too well, when you get in bed with an elephant, you get squashed. Canada now has a semi-independent foreign policy with respect to Israel (we favour Israel over violent Islamic states but the USA has begun to distance itself away from Israel) and Canada has found a way to make its own decisions despite having such a large and domineering neighbour. We have found a way to develop our own economy and society while finding mutually beneficial arrangements with our largest trading partner (and we are the USA’s largest trading partner).

Why Is an Anti-American Islamist Obama’s Favorite Middle East Leader?

Saturday, January 7th, 2012

By Barry Rubin

For the first time in forty years, Israel is not the American president’s favorite Middle Eastern ally. Instead, that role is played by Turkey’s government.

This would not be such a bad thing if we were talking about the “old” Turkey, the secular republic. Unfortunately, President Barack Obama’s favorite adviser among the regional leaders is Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Pretend all you want but Obama really dislikes — hates? — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and truth be told Netanyahu has done nothing to deserve that treatment.

Anti-Israel LUSH Cosmetics Quietly Closes Beverly Hills Store

Monday, January 2nd, 2012

By Join the Boycott (JtB)

The anti-Israel company LUSH Cosmetics has quietly closed its Beverly Hills location approximately 3 months after JtB organized a protest outside the store to expose the company’s support of PLO extremism.

LUSH (with stores in the UK, Pasadena, Santa Monica, Anaheim, all over the US, and over 40 countries) is taking your money and giving it to support the PLO’s extremist One World Campaign which portrays Israel as an “illegal” occupier committing “crimes” against “Palestine” and grossly exaggerates the suffering in Gaza. Please write to customercare@lush.co.uk to protest their anti-Israel extremism and CC jointheboycott@inbox.comsee example and list of US locations. The “FLUSH LUSH” video is © JtB 1/2/12.

Muslim Persecution of Christians: November 2011

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

by Raymond Ibrahim*

The so-called “Arab Spring” continues to transition into a “Christian Winter,” including in those nations undergoing democratic change, such as Egypt, where the Muslim Brotherhood and the Salafis dominated the elections — unsurprisingly so, considering the Obama administration has actually been training Islamists for elections.

Betraying Ben-Gurion

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

by Efraim Karsh*

It is ironic that Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), Israel’s only university bearing the name of the Jewish state’s founding father, and established in the ancient desert he dreamt of reviving, has become a hotbed of anti-Israel propaganda at the expense of proper scholarly endeavor.

So much so that an international committee of scholars, appointed by Israel’s Council for Higher Education to evaluate political science and international relations programs in Israeli universities, recently recommended that BGU “consider closing the Department of Politics and Government” unless it abandoned its “strong emphasis on political activism,” improved its research performance, and redressed the endemic weakness “in its core discipline of political science.” In other words, they asked that the Department return to accurate scholarship rather than indoctrinate the students with libel.

The same day the committee’s recommendation was revealed, Professor David Newman — who founded that department and bequeathed it such a problematic ethos, for which “achievement” he was presumably rewarded with a promotion to Deanship of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, from where he can shape other departments in a similar way — penned an op-ed in the Jerusalem Post in which he compared Israel’s present political culture to that of Nazi Germany. “I will no doubt be strongly criticized for compared making such a comparison,” he wrote,

How Can Israel Please the American Government, Media, and “Experts?” It Can’t

Sunday, December 18th, 2011

By Barry Rubin

There is a constant effort — especially by the anti-Israel left–to portray those who express mainstream  Israeli public opinion and the views of professional analysts as “right-wing” or “Likudnik.” This leads me to wonder what one would have to say to please these people. What would be the equivalent of a “liberal” position for Israel according to them? What kinds of positions would they see as legitimate?

What follows is not meant to exaggerate in any way but is, I believe, a genuine list of what they demand. To please them, I presume one would have to say the following:

The world forces Israel to pay for its guilt

Sunday, December 18th, 2011

By Gary Gerofsky

The obsession of the EU, the USA, the UN, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Russia and even the Vatican to interfere in Israel’s domestic and foreign policy reminds me of the treatment of a Big Brother who has failed to do right in his past and thinks that he can make amends by forcing little brother to make all the sacrifices that Big Brother never has and never will make to satisfy a guilty conscience.

Anti-Israelism in Israel

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

by Asaf Romirowsky*

The Israel Academia Monitor (IAM) watchdog, which “monitors abuses of academic freedom and politicization of Israeli campuses by extremists and radicals,” has found, “Israeli academic institutions have been misused in recent years for radical anti-Israeli and even anti-Semitic propagandizing, often by tenured radicals with embarrassing academic records and dubious research credentials.”

Gingrich Just Revealed that the Emperor has no Clothes

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

by Phyllis Chesler

For years, I have risked scorn, defamation, and even physical menace for telling the truth about the “Palestinian” Lie.

Although the “Palestinians” claim a sacred national identity with roots in the Holy Land, the truth is that no such people or group ever existed historically. (Yes, I know that now, given the enormous propaganda and funding for terrorism that there is, indeed, a group of people who call themselves “Palestinians” and who are viewed as such by the immediate world.)

AFSI Decries Government Destruction of Givat Aryeh

Monday, December 12th, 2011

By Fern Sidman

On Sunday morning, December 11th, over 50 people gathered at the Israeli Consulate in New York to vocally express their revulsion at the recent decision by the Israeli government to demolish the community of Givat Aryeh. Organized by Americans For A Safe Israel (AFSI), its executive director Helen Freedman who just returned from Israel on the organization’s bi-annual Chizuk mission, told those gathered, “Just two weeks ago, we celebrated the dedication of a new Torah scroll that was presented to the residents of Itamar and Givat Aryeh in the Shomron by its sponsor, AFSI member Jack Ross. Now we are totally disheartened to learn that the destruction of this community was orchestrated by a decision of the Netanyahu/Barak government.”

Newt Gingrich and the “Invented” Palestinian People

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

by Daniel Pipes*

The former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and current Republican presidential candidate said yesterday that “there was no Palestine as a state. It was part of the Ottoman Empire. We have invented the Palestinian people, who are in fact Arabs and are historically part of the Arab people, and they had the chance to go many places.”

Social Security Inspector General, with Blinders on, Looks at H-1B Program

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

By David North, CIS.org

The Inspector-General of the Social Security Administration (SSA) has taken a look at one aspect of the H-1B program.

He brought to bear unlimited access to SSA’s huge electronic earnings data system, and deployed a staff of four to dig into it. So far, so good.

But he has done so with his blinders on and, as a result, has found little of interest.

As a researcher who, from time to time, had limited access to the same wonderful data set, which covers all earnings reported to the Social Security Administration, I find the latest IG report, “H-1B Workers’ Use of Social Security Numbers (A-08-11-11114)“, to be deeply disappointing.

Obama Administration Bans Knowledge of Islam

Monday, December 5th, 2011

by Raymond Ibrahim*

The Obama administration’s censoring of photographs of the late Osama bin Laden, lest they offend Muslims, is one thing; but what about censoring words, especially those pivotal to U.S. security?

The Daily Caller reveals that “the Obama administration has been pulling back all training materials used for the law enforcement and national security communities, in order to eliminate all references to Islam that some Muslim groups have claimed are offensive.”
