MoveOn.org Explains Why Jews Deserved the Holocaust

Friday, May 25th, 2007

by Bill Levinson

It is past time for the American people to express the revulsion and disgust that are truly appropriate for the Left’s behavior. A MoveOn.org Action Forum statement that Jews “did something” to deserve the Holocaust is not the isolated act of an individual flake or bigot; it is but one piece of a systematic pattern of behavior that permeates the Left:

(1) MoveOn.org’s Action Forum overflowed with not only anti-Semitic hate speech, but also 9/11 denial and hate speech directed against Catholics, evangelical Christians, and even Black people.
(2) Ward Churchill called the victims of 9/11 “Little Eichmanns,” who somehow “deserved it.”
(3) Michael Moore calls the terrorists who are murdering our men and women in uniform “Minutemen.” …

North Korea: Alarmed or Paranoid?

Friday, May 25th, 2007

By Andrew L. Jaffee

North Korea test-fired a long-range missile and five shorter-range rockets on July 4, 2006. It tested a nuclear bomb in October 2006. Today, Kim Jong-il’s workers’ paradise “fired several short-range guided missiles into the sea that separates it from Japan.” The North has a 1.1-million-man army, the fourth-largest in the world. This is downright alarming, unless you’re some kind of politically-correct sissy “analyst:”

Two Elections; One Revolution

Friday, May 25th, 2007

By Barry Rubin

“Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive/But to be young was very heaven!” thus wrote the English poet William Wordsworth of the French Revolution. In France itself and Turkey today, there may be more modest revolutions in the offing, brought about at the ballot box.

Back in 1789, Wordsworth continued, “Oh! times, In which the meager, stale, forbidding ways/Of custom, law, and statute, took at once/ The attraction of a country in romance!” Romanticism, however, is not on the side of these potential changes. On the contrary, they are revolts of pragmatism against revolutionary romanticism. Though Wordsworth had that point covered, too, describing a moment, “When Reason seemed the most to assert her rights.”

MPAC in Denial About Radicalization of Muslim Youth?

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

By Steven Emerson*

Earlier today, on CNBC’s Kudlow & Co., I debated the spokeswoman for the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), Edina Lekovic, on the findings of the recent Pew Poll on the levels of radicalism within the American Muslim community.

Lekovic, while a student at UCLA, was Managing Editor of the Muslim Students’ Association’s newspaper, al-Talib. In July 1999, under Lekovic’s editorship, the paper published an article entitled, “Jihad in America,” which included the passage:

Join the Boycott Overcomes Yahoo! Censorship

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

By Andrew L. Jaffee

Join the Boycott (JTB) overcame censors at AOL and Lycos, and now Yahoo! Why would a responsible organization like JTB be censored in a free society? “Join the Boycott, an initiative of the Friends of Israel Community, is a Yahoo Geocities website addressing the serious problem of anti-Israel propaganda in the Los Angeles Times, and anti-Israel bias in general. Join the Boycott has been providing ongoing commentary on this subject for over 5 years. Join the Boycott advocates responsible consumer protest as a means to combat anti-Israel bias.” Note that certain keyword that I highlighted, Israel. Yes, in these upside-down, politically-correct times, double-standards are commonplace.

Apparently, Yahoo! GeoCities has no problem hosting sites such as The Lebanese Marxist-Lenninist [sic] Page, which features a link for a “boycott israel campaign” and these two images:

Violence rages in Palestinian refugee camps: Canadian support for UNRWA must not be part of the problem

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

By Canadian Coalition for Democracies

Ottawa, Canada - As the Lebanese government attempts to bring Palestinian terrorist and their foreign allies based in UN refugee camps under control, serious questions must be asked about the United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) and its role in supporting and sustaining these armed gangs and their expensive infrastructures. For its part, the Canadian Government must investigate the way its own money and support for UNRWA have been misused to fuel extremism in the region.

The Plight of Palestinians in the Arab World

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

By Andrew L. Jaffee

The current infighting in Lebanon between the Palestinian (Arab) Fatah al-Islam terrorists and Lebanese (Arab) security forces is a stark reminder of the often-ignored plight of Palestinians living in the Arab World. In Lebanon, Palestinians are marginalized, living in ghettos. One of the biggest and most under-reported episodes of ethnic cleansing was the Kuwaiti expulsion of 400,000 Palestinians after the first Gulf War. Palestinians in Kuwait largely supported Saddam Hussein’s 1990 invasion of their host nation. As a result:

…Kuwait severed ties with PLO as a result of the Gulf War fall-out and cut its financial backing.

After Saddam Hussein was driven out, the emirate expelled some 400,000 Palestinians, although a few thousand stayed or have since returned. …

Kuwait is not the only Arab country to expel Palestinians, while Lebanon hasn’t exactly welcomed Palestinians with open arms:

Message to Iran: Watch Out

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

By Andrew L. Jaffee

…the maneuvers [by a huge U.S. naval contingent in the Persian Gulf] take place less than two weeks after Vice President Dick Cheney visited the region and informed Saudi King Abdullah and fellow Gulf rulers that President George W. Bush has determined that if Iran refuses to waive a nuclear weapon capability, the US will attack its nuclear, military and economic infrastructure before he leaves the White House in Jan. 2009.

- DEBKAfile

The U.S. will attack Iran before Bush leaves office? Rumor? Speculation? Truth or dare. In early April, when Iran was holding British sailors hostage, a source cited by NewsMax.com revealed a divided Iranian regime, some of whose members became fearful of a growing American naval presence in the region, led by the USS Nimitz. Rumor or not, Iran did back down and release the British hostages. It is no rumor that the American military today flexed its muscles, just for Iran to see, and to show support for our allies in the region:

Thousands flee Lebanon violence: Proportionate?

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

By Andrew L. Jaffee

When Israel was defending herself from a rain of rockets fired by Lebanese-based Hezbollah terrorists, the Jewish state was accused of using “disproportionate” force. Hmmm… Let’s talk disproportionate and hypocrisy. When Lebanese security forces tried to arrest Palestinian bank robbers hiding in the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp, Fatah al-Islam terrorists, “an Al-Qaeda inspired group,” “attacked army posts at the entrances to the camp. A large force of Lebanese troops hit back, bombarding the camp and storming a building on the outskirts of Tripoli.” Proportionate? On Tuesday, “A UN aid convoy which entered the Nahr al-Bared camp in northern Lebanon has been forced to leave after shells exploded near its vehicles. … There are reports of injuries…” Disproportionate? Today, thousands of refugees are fleeing the fighting in and around the Nahr al-Bared camp. “At least 50 soldiers and militants have died. The civilian toll is unknown.” Proportionate?

I can’t find a news story about Lebanon’s chaos on the BBC without the following disclaimer:

National Jewish Democratic Council Undermines Troops

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Joins “Americans United for Change” in Circulating Defeatist Propaganda
by Bill Levinson

We have previously described how the National Jewish Democratic Council (double oxymoron, there is nothing Jewish or Democratic about it) publishes anti-Christian and even anti-Semitic hate propaganda. The former includes portrayal of Christians (not Republicans, CHRISTIANS) in a “This is the Enemy” context, along with derisive portrayals of Jesus, the cross, and Christian ministers. The latter includes “Jews as Christian haters” propaganda similar to that published by medieval pogrom agitators, Nazis, and most recently Ku Klux Klansman David Duke, as well as derisive stereotypes of Jewish Republicans. Now, NJDC is circulating propaganda whose obvious effect, if not actual intent, is to persuade us that we are losing the war against Iraqi terrorists.

Sharpton asked to take position on Jeff Rense/ David Duke program

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Open letter to Al Sharpton (posted to Internet blogs, with circulation encouraged, cc: SupportImus.org)
Sent to info, guests, sales, and affiliates “at” sharptontalk.net, cc: supportimus “at” gmail.com

Dear Mr. Sharpton,

It is a matter of record that all the major Democratic Presidential candidates, including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John Edwards, appeared at your National Action Network event. There is even a picture of you arm in arm with Barack Obama. We therefore cannot overemphasize the importance of your maintaining your credibility as an honest, impartial, and uncompromising opponent of racism, anti-Semitism, and other forms of hate speech.

Earlier this year, you demanded and obtained the firing of talk show host Don Imus for using the racial slur “nappy headed hos” (whores) on the air. Last night, talk show host Jeff Rense hosted former Klansman David Duke, as proven by Rense’s own Web page, http://www.rense.com/. Their conversation about Jews went far beyond an intemperate racial slur like “nappy headed hos;” it encompassed vicious “Jew as Christian hater” propaganda like that used to incite medieval pogroms and the Holocaust. Meanwhile, it is well known what David Duke thinks of African-Americans.

Fatah al-Islam: Al-Qaida or Not? An Inside Look

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

By Evan Kohlmann*

The explosion of violence this week in the northern, predominantly Sunni Lebanese city of Tripoli has refocused attention on the elusive Fatah al-Islam extremist movement based there, and has led to rampant speculation over the group’s actual motives. While some observers have pointed to the Salafi jihadist ideology of Fatah al-Islam and its vocal support for Al-Qaida, others have accused the group as serving as a proxy for Syrian intelligence in a bid to derail an international investigation of the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Whom will Sharpton disparage next?

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

By Andrew L. Jaffee

Al Sharpton is running out of people to disparage. He’s targeted Jews, whites, blacks, etc. Now Sharpton’s gone after Mormons — Mitt Romney in particular — stating, “As for the one Mormon running for office, those that really believe in God will defeat him anyway, so don’t worry about that.” How sweet of Al. I won’t even bother to print Sharpton’s pathetic defense of his own verbal abuse, made yesterday on his radio show. Let’s face it kids, he gets away with murder solely because of his skin color. Yes, things have gotten that trite. A reminder (primer) on Sharpton’s history:

…According to published accounts, Sharpton publicly bashed former NYC Mayor David Dinkins as “a n—-r whore,” and once referred to his political opponents as “recycled white trash.” Sharpton has also never publicly renounced his 1991 inflammatory public remarks against “diamond merchants” — after which a Harlem mob singled out a random 29-year-old Jewish rabbinical student — and stabbed him to death. …
